  1. From your wholly bizarre list, I only have "games" and I consider it to be a pretty uninspirational gimmick EP, but will make a point of checking out the rest out of sheer curiosity. Surely there's one good album in there.
  2. Oh Foo Fighters, cooooooooool. Going to make an effort to go this year. NAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHT.
  3. A relatively low level of spunk I might add, but there's definitely some there.
  4. Real Estate - Beach House with spunk
  5. Is it because the album has an amazing opening track so everyone gets a boner over it, but then never actually listens to the rest of the boring album? (with regards to Beach House, not Caribou. I've quite enjoyed all of Caribou's album. Don't think the latest two feel anywhere near as complete as the the milk of human kindness though.)(RATHER IRONICALLY I MIGHT ADD, COS HE DID AT EEN FIRST)
  6. Don't get the big deal about Beach House. Pretty average.
  7. Hi, I'm afraid you just googled "Thistle Windows Theme Tune".
  8. Yeah, so as I mentioned in the albums of the year, I was inspired to create smart playlists for each of the last 10 years after I made one for 2010. So the purpose of this thread is to ask... 1. Which year is the largest? 2. Which year do you consider to be the best? 3. Why? For me... 1. Largest is 2010, coming in at 2.83gb. Did have a 20gb clearout recently though of stuff I never listened to. 2. Best year is a close one between 2004 and 2010 3. Well, 2004 produced Arcade Fire - Funeral, Animal Collective - Sung Tongs and Willy Mason - Where the Humans Eat. You can't really get a better year than that! 2010 though has got me excited about music again, I was becoming slightly disillusioned with bands/artists over the last couple years, opting to listen to techno/minimal techno instead. IMO nothing REALLY special had come out in the last two years before 2010 (or at least so I thought at the time, discovered a few classics this year)(maybe with the exception of Bitte Orca) but that has been all change this year, it was getting to the point where I was getting fed up looking through my iPod for something to put on, whereas now I feel like I'm spoilt for choice. So yeah, after thinking that through, still even! 2004 for nostalgia, 2010 for future nostalgia.
  9. Forgot about Twin Shadow! It's in that top 5/6 somewhere...! Other favourites include Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti - Before Today Sufjan Stevens - Age of Adz Avey Tare - Down There Beach Fossils - Beach Fossils Male Bonding - Male Bonding Cloud Nothings - Turning On Kxp - Kxp Matthew Dear - Black City This thread has inspired me to create smart playlists on iTunes for each of the last 10 years! The largest year being 2010, the best year being either 2004 or 2010. Maybe this deserves it's own thread...?
  10. Really good year. Top 5. 1. No Age - Everything in Between 2. Lower Dens - Twin-Hand Movement 3. Women - Public Strain 4. Wavves - King of the Beach 5. Deerhunter - Halcyon Digest EP wise - Summer Camp and Spectrals both really good.
  11. Just put it on eBay. I sold my Tele twice in a day on twice. Agreed deal with local guy, who came round and picked it up, then before I could cancel the auction someone else bought it! Thankfully the agreed to mutually end the transaction.
  12. For the record, I'm just going to get a 65 reissue Mustang from good old GREAT Britain. So there you go.
  13. Need this gone, make me an offer. Or i'll kill you.
  14. Yo, was just wondering if anyone has ordered a guitar from abroad before and incurred customs charges? I am planning on ordering a guitar from japan and was wondering what I can expect to pay and if there are any ways around the charges? I know that claiming it is a gift normally waives the fee, but I'm not sure I'll be able to get away with that in this case. Or will I?
  15. Thank you for that, a vintage model is definitely something I will be considering in the future. However, right now I am just looking for something new and reliable. I have read a number of reviews of the Japanese reissues and they are all very positive. Found a Japanese site who retails the guitar at 530 and ships to the UK so have sent off an enquiry email to find out the cost of shipping.
  16. It's black, replacing it I think with a Japanese Mustang '69 reissue. Fender Japan '69 Reissue Mustang guitar MG69 on eBay (end time 12-Nov-10 09:52:45 GMT)
  17. Nah, they're rubbish. First couple times you listen to one of their albums you think "Hey, this is different and cool, this is alright!". Then you realise it's just shit.
  18. Hello. I have one of these for sale. Squier Tele Custom II ( P90 ) (GAK) I only got it a couple months ago. It's like brand new, hardly played it. It really is lovely, a solid copy of one the best looking guitars ever made. Reason for sale is I am replacing it with something a little more luxurious. 150 ono.
  19. Anyone know if you pay any cash when you drop off your guitar for a set up at R&B, or do you just pay when you pick it up? (Yes, I've read the thread.)
  20. Over various accounts over the years... Something like Sam 182, The Tourist, Cowboy Dan, Edgar Graham. With a few more thrown in there. Never really post anymore though...
  21. Why did this thread stop? I'm hooked on... Women - Women Women - Public Strain Wavves - King of the Beach Wavves - Wavves No Age - Everything in Between Male Bonding - Nothing Hurts ...Just now. Haven't been this excited about music in a while. Getting through a lot of new stuff.
  22. Add female relatives to the policy as named drivers. I've put my mum and my grunny on mine and saved a few hunner pounds. Apparently it's verging on fraud, but it's ok fraud.
