Whats mental? the 7AM tea while the permits are being written? The 10AM tea with the bacon rolls? The 12PM-1PM tea while watching cash in the attic? The 3PM tea with the cakes? The 5PM dinner?
I agree, that's a mental amount of tea to drink. (I'm being facetious)
Yeah, all of that

Rig mechanic in the North Sea. 2 weeks on/3 weeks off. 6am-6pm when away. It's mental.

Ha, well it appears we are as flabbergasted as each other.
Oh, Inverted World is sublime in every way. Always recognise it as one of top 5 favourite albums. If you're not that in to it, then I honestly think you haven't given it the time it deserves. Please go back and listen to it on repeat.

Fit the fuck!? Why does no one like Oh, Inverted World?! The albums have been getting progressively worse since then...

Do any of you want to form a band and completely rip them off?
-
Aye, you 3 are alright

Such a shame. Their self titled album and Public Strain are two of the greatest albums I have ever heard. I'm led to believe he was the chief songwriter as well. They were already on hiatus so it looks like RIP Women as well.
Seriously, listen to the albums. Take a bit of getting in to, but they are amazing.

I see the Mars Volta have announced another album to be released. Wow, will really need to check that one out. NAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHT.

One of my favourite bands of the moment Lower Dens, announced new album details today. April 30th for Nootropics.
They also released an mp3 of the track "Brains" which is fucking amazing. Give it a few listens.
Here is the link to Pitchfork so you can stream it, but you can also download the track if you go to lowerdens.com.

I heartily recommend purchasing 2010's "Twin-Hand Movement" if you haven't already heard it.

Well, I've listened to it a few times now and it really is a remarkable achievement given that the sole songwriter is just 20/21. Complete different style from "Cloud Nothings" in the same way that "Cloud Nothings" was completely different from "Turning On".
I'boy's nae bad.

This was released as a single in 2010, but on the album in 2011 - so kind of counts.

And also Spectrals - Lockjaw, but I can't find that on YouTube

I'm a busy boy tonight...
The Steve Albini produced "Attack on Memory" has leaked.
I of course won't be linking to any illegal downloads, but has anyone else had the change to listen? Enjoying it just now.

Good/bad?

Hardly groundbreaking stuff, but a nice enough listen. Hopefully the album offers a little more.

Did anyone go?

Haven't really been too impressed with much this year, especially when in comparison to 2010. Liked Cloud Nothings. Real Estate and Widowspeak were alright listens but nothing special.
Just catching up on albums I've been meaning to get for the last few months - Spectrals, Shimmering Stars, Veronica Falls and Atlas Sound all downloading just now, so have high hopes for each of those.

Do I have to make another thread then?

What, and deny this dying site of a little bit of life?

Women - Eyesore
Radiohead - Everything In It's Right Place
Wire - Outdoor Miner
The Beatles - In My Life
Deerhunter - Desire Lines
This one is open to discussion, as long as no one slags Queen.

Please note, I did note say my 5 FAVOURITE songs ever, but the 5 GREATEST songs ever.

Yeah, great price. If I hadn't just bought a 69 Mustang I would have snapped this up.
