The second the needle hits a Serial Killaz record you know it’s them. Rabble-rousing ragga vocals, bubbling bouncy bass, cut-throat beats, undiluted positive vibes: to have such a distinctive sound in today’s talent-packed game is a rare, rare asset. But with two careers that can be traced back to the earliest stages of rave, what do you expect?Their back story has been told too many times: do a little research and you’ll find the names Tera and Vital Elements scrawled all over the scene’s history books. Now found scrawling Serial Killaz over the very same pages, the duo quickly established themselves as THE jungle and reggae legends’ remixers of choice since forming in 2005.
Naturally their trademark skanks and chubby bass spirit bubbles over from their dubs to their DJ sets. With such a heavy international tour schedule, Tera and Vital Elements are often found DJing on separate continents each weekend. From Canada to Croatia, Boomtown to Outlook, the duo are famed for tearing up the dance… And seldom leave without a repeat booking.

Officially the Jungle legends’ remixers of choice, Serial Killaz is comprised of Tera and Vital Elements. Their successive hit remixes of classic jungle tunes such as Congo Natty's ‘Junglist’, ‘Wardance’ and more recently the massive 'Code Red', Terry T & Demolition Man's ‘Fire’ and DJ Stretch's 'Worries In The Dance' have seen the pair gain support from such highbrow, disc spinning luminaries as DJ Hype, Nicky Blackmarket, Kenny Ken and Micky Finn while their own DJ schedule is looking more than hectic with offers from all over the globe flooding in.
Last summer Rebel MC entrusted them with a treasured DAT of Congo Natty vocals from scene legends such as Tenor Fly, Top Cat, Peter Bouncer and Daddy Freddy and asked them to remix a succession of classic Congo tracks. Earlier this year the boys reworked the massive 'Wardance' giving them their biggest hit to date. Meanwhile, taking on some original tracks, this year saw the pair launch their own Serial Killaz imprint with the immense ‘Killa Clash’.
The Serial Killaz have been grafting hard in the studio lately, and with a selection of their dubplates being cained by Hype all over his Kiss FM show, and plans to ink a deal with one of the scene’s biggest labels just on the horizon, you can see big things for this pair in the near future.
With their dj sets Serial Killaz aim to create a live soundclash feel by utilising a huge selection of specials and VIPs from some of the Reggae scene’s biggest names as well as their trademark FX and shouts and recently they have been touring the world, smashing up clubs from Reading to Rome with their own blend of Ragga-soaked drum & bass mash ups.

Over the last decade his music has seen airplay on major radio stations such as BBC Radio 1, 1xtra, Kiss FM, Choice FM and Rinse FM etc. He has also played a definitive role in shaping the sounds of the UK’s drum and bass movement. His name has become synonymous with tight production, heavyweight dance-floor tracks and clinical mixing skills. Storming onto the scene with his 2006 anthem ‘Turn Down The Lights’ he has gone on to release a slew of seminal ragga jungle cuts, as well as numerous well received productions across the dance music spectrum.
Having cut his teeth in to Shy Fx’s Digital Soundboy imprint, he has collaborated with some of the most exciting producers and vocalists in the industry. From his crucial remix of Gyptian’s ‘Hold You’ to his work with the likes of Mc Spyda and Topcat he has taken his brand of dubwise dnb to audiences across the globe. With Remix work under his belt for major record companies such as Sony, Universal and London Records to name a few he has been able to work with major artists like Jessie J, Tinnie Tempah, Misha B, Arlisa & Nas and has established himself as an internationally acclaimed artist.
With sights set firmly on the future it’s all about his very own label High Culture Recordings. Exemplifying Benny’s ability to move effortlessly through the different sounds of UK bass music, much of the labels output so far has been refreshingly diverse. Tracks such as ‘Raggamuffin’, ‘Stamina’ and ‘What Must I Do’ draw influence from the current UK funky, house and dubstep movements, while the latest release ‘Top Rank Skank’ sees a return to classic Benny Page with its bouncy reggae backing track and huge vocals from the one Mr Williamz who is another artist to watch out for on High Culture.

DJ Q’s musical journey started from a young age listening to music played by his parents. It was at the age of 12 when Q first got involved with the UK Garage scene, buying vinyls and tape packs. When his vinyl collection grew larger Q finally got a pair of record decks in his bedroom. After teaching himself to mix Q started to get bookings at local parties at the age of 15.
Q's break came was when he was invited on as a guest on one of the UKG shows to showcase a few of the songs he produced. While at the station he dropped off a mix CD, and was later asked to host a show on one of the UK's leading radio stations. Q Joined 1xtra in 2004 as a DJ to host the UKG Mixshow, being the youngest DJ at the station he brought a new energy and sound to the airwaves.
It was around the same time Q released his first vinyl, 'Love Like This (The Reasons)' which was a big hit on the Bassline scene. This was followed by 'Tea Bag', 'Dirty' and later 'You Wot!' Which was signed and released via Ministry of Sound. 2008 saw Q hit mainstream success with remix credits to his name such as Amy Winehouse, Dizzy Rascal, H20 feat Platnum, Keri Hilson and Katy B to name a few. Q has also remixed and worked with the likes of Rusko, Toddla T & Shola Ama, Boy Better Know.
Aside from the Weekly 1Xtra show, DJ Q has been embraced by Radio One with many guest slots such as 'the Essential mix', Trevor Nelson's Saturday show, a mini mix for Annie Mac, Rob Da Bank, The Review Show with Nihal, Mary Anne Hobbs, Mistajam & Pete Tong's 'In New Music We Trust', Q has also played music in various countries over the years such as Ibiza, Malia, Ayia Napa, Kos, Corfu, Switzerland & America.

Breaking onto the scene together with D-Bridge as Future Forces back in 1995, Jason Maldini was the first artist to release a single on the then brand new Renegade Hardware label. Introduced by a mutual friend, D-Bridge and Maldini released a variety of cuts on Trouble On Vinyl and further finessed their sound into a harder, more aggressive style.
Through his connection with Renegade Hardware, Maldini was introduced to Fresh, who was also producing music at the time; a chance encounter and Fresh's request for Maldini to mix one of his tunes led to a collaboration, "The Code," which went to the coveted No.1 spot on BBC Radio 1's drum and bass chart. The inclusion of Vegas completed the four's production alliance, officially known as Bad Company UK, and their 1998 release of the seminal drum and bass anthem "The Nine," with which they had an unprecedented success, re-wrote the script for what was becoming an increasingly minimalist genre. The footprint of "The Nine" has been so strong that more recently, it was voted as the number 1 drum and bass release of all time. At the height of Bad Company UK’s success, Maldini and Vegas had not only racked up an impressive back catalogue on their own label BC Recordings, but also on some of the biggest labels in drum and bass including Prototype, Virus, DSCI4, Ram, React and Metalheadz. Their albums "Inside the Machine" and "Book of the Bad" were released to global critical acclaim, winning them mainstream recognition in The Face, NME, DJ Magazine, Muzik, Dazed & Confused, and Mixmag.
Their deft, technological savvy mixed with slick dancefloor manoeuvres and dirty bass production dominated the drum and bass musical landscape; what with the hard, digital edge of “Inside The Machine” - with dancefloor staples such as ‘Silicon Dawn’, ‘Oxygen (The Drilla Killa)’, ‘Sentient’ and ‘Nitrous (Feat. Trace)’‚ on board - through to its even-more-lethal follow-up in the form of ‘Digital Nation’ (cue anthems; ‘Breathe’, ‘Night-Train’, ‘Navajo’ and the ever-infamous ‘Son of Nitrous’)
