I was jamming at the new practice place, the Lok-Up, last night and i must say, it sounds really good in there. You get an excellent vibe from the place and its cheap as chips aswell. I do suggest any band checks it out. www.the-lok-up.com

If Northsounds BOTB for Free at the Dee is anything to go by... this show will include ridiculous cover bands, annoying GnRs rip-offs and if any decent local bands get on, the DJs will probably make sure that the band are given no support wotsoever. I can't wait to tune in to this.

Really tho.. there are some people thinking way too much into this. Its really just a basic fun idea with no harmful consiqeunces. its just a few drunk homeless dudes playing 4 or 5 of their favourite songs to a pub full of people. its doesn't even have to be a competetion

not at all offended. It would just make their day i suppose. and who cares what they spend it on... 50 or 100 wouldn't go far anyway

Its not really degrading... it just giving these guys a stage instead of a sidewalk and its giving them some paper money instead of bronze and silver. I don't think they would take offence to it. It would all be done in good humour im sure

Theres no doubt Aberdeen has a fine collection of buskers on almost every street corner. I must say, i've seen some of these guys wailing out at the tops of their lungs and they do a mighty fine job... especially the drunk homeless guys (the dude outside the kebab shop across from Kef is my favourite) Anyway... i was inspired by these guys and i thought it would be an interesting idea to have a Battle of the Buskers competetion. Rules could be they must be homeless and drunk and they must only use 1 mic and their instrument of choice. They could play 4 or 5 tunes and could win a cash prize or a haircut or summit. I would sure as hell pay to see that. It would be a darn good money maker and it gives something for those dudes to do. Could maybe have a showcase once a month at Drummonds or somewhere similar. I wouldn't be suprised if these guys could give the local 'scene' a run for their money. A Star could be Born.
