  1. Just found a page with clips of Marty's forthcoming solo album "Loudspeaker": Marty Friedman - Loudspeaker The album came out in Japan a couple of days ago, but there has been no word on the worldwide release yet. You'll find the sound clips if you scroll down. (WMA / Real - format) Andy
  2. Link: Rock N' Roll, gotta love it Haven't been listening to these guys in ages, just watched this, made remember why they're the best fuckin' band in the world. Andy xx
  3. As well as trying to put a band together, I'm up for grabs as well. Dying to get gigging so I'll try my hand at just about anything at this point: Punk, Rock, Indie, Celtic anything along those lines I can handle. I've been playing for 4 years now and have a wide range of influences: from Wolfstone to Guns N' Roses to Megadeth to Sheryl Crow to Mozart to The Ramones etc etc PM me if interested Cheers, Andy
  4. Hey, my last band didn't work out, but I'm planning on getting something new going ASAP. I have 5 songs finished musically, and 2 completely finished with lyrics (but everyone is welcome to add their own input to the proceedings). I have a Bass player onboard already, and am currently trying to decide whether to take on a 2nd Guitarist or not. I'm hoping to be gigging soon-ish, and I want the atmosphere to be laid back, and for everyone to have a laugh. PM me for more details. Andy
  5. I'm in 100% agreement with this. Covers become very tiresome, very quickly. Writing songs as a band is a good way to get a feel for how everyone plays, and it also gives everyone a sense of involvement and achievment right from the start. Andy
  6. By no means terrible, but I wasn't too impressed. I mean it isn't awful, just kinda run of the mill? Didn't grab me. Sorry lads. Try make better use of the two guitarists? By this I mean: try not to have the two guitars playing the same part all the time. Get some chords in behind the lead guitar parts, and try playing a combination of single notes with the corresponding power chords etc? It'll add a bit texture and beef up the sound a bit. Just my 2 cents. Good luck anyhow Andy
  7. *recoils in horror* .... Am I the only one that doesn't really view this as a big deal? I mean yeah it's a little bit scaffy, but it's hardly anything to shout about? Andy
  8. Yes, agree 100%. Clever lad Andy P.S. To give Chairlie his dues, well done on this one
  9. Yawns... well we are all ill educated cretins, if we were to endorse this in the slightest, it would marr Stripey's delusions that he has any shred of artistic credibility. Love Andy
  10. Do it! X-Box's are shite! GameCube's are decent. But a PS2 is definately the best option! Andy
  11. I've been growing my hair for about a year and a half now. I just decided to leave it the fuck alone, and I feel it's long enough. Anyone know any good places in town to get it cut into a kinda style? It's pissing me off at the moment, as it's just a mass of hair! I want to keep it long, but I want it to be a bit more manageable and look the shit! Anyone recommend any hair dressers in town?? Andy xx
  12. Hey, I'm supposed to be travelling down to Plymouth to meet up with a few friends down there at the beginning of June. Anyone know the best way for me to get down? Cheap flights etc? Any info would be much appreciated! Andy
  13. Nah man, I bought into all the "fuck the english" shit when I was a kid. But nowadays, I'm very much of the opinion they're no different than anyone - some of them are sound as fuck, some of them are dicks. The above idea wouldn't serve to create anything, other than a pointless relay of racist insults being tossed back and forth. Andy
  14. Well, the quality of the recording is shite, but I'm sure you're well aware of that. The quality of the tune however is a very different story. There's some pretty bad ass riffage in there. The band sound tight as well. I think with a quality recording, this would sound the dogs bollocks. Andy
  15. Well I'm big into my cock rock haha, but I want to do somethin totally different with this. Basically just stuff along the lines of James Taylor, Eva Cassidy, etc. Just acoustic Guitar & Vocals. Andy
  16. I dunno mate, I'm not that great a singer, I don't have much of a range, and I just prefer to work with someone else - I think it brings out the best in me. Andy
  17. Hi, I'm currently in a couple of up and coming bands just now, but I'd really quite like to get a few gigs in quite soon, and would also like to be playing live as much as possible. I'm basically looking for a like-minded singer / song-writer (who preferably can play some Guitar as well, but not essential) to write some originals and play live at open mic sessions and the like. This wouldn't be a serious project, but just a sort of fun thing on the side. I have some acoustic tunes written that I probably won't get to use with either band, so would like to put them to some use. Cheers, Andy
  18. Sorry there mate. Good luck anyway Andy
  19. It's literally 2 mins round the corner from The Moorings. Theatre Lane is the name of the "street". But anyway, I'm afraid to say, it looks like it has fallen through completely. The other two guys aren't able to commit, so I've taken another offer. Sorry there man, and good luck finding something yourself. Andy
  20. Looking to move in early June. But need an answer as early as next week. I know it's a little short notice, and a bit of a shot in the dark, but you get if you don't ask. Andy
