try this herb called valerian. its used for anxiety /insomnia. Its a natural hypnotic type herb---, you can get some from holland and barret. works a treat--no side affects that i know of.

I really dont see how it is commercialising his name. The people who will appreciate the event are the people who listened to Peel and share his love of new & inventive music. I cant see whats wrong with that---he had an impact on a lot of peoples (musical) lives, so why not acknowledge that?

Regarding the forum-I used to go there quite a lot. Have been there for a few gigs - lee scratch perry and richey hawtin. I think its a great venue, there is a very spacious feel . It is a shame its not used for more events. what would be good is if there were more local band nights (in the same vein as thursdays event)with say five or six bands who maybe share similar artistic leanings----with a different dj every time. John Peel Day event is hopefully the start of something new in aberdeen. Its something Im sure he would approve of!

I can see the connection......when I first heard Stroszek I thought there was a joy division esque tinge, but I wouldnt go as far as saying they sound just like Interpol in fact theres only a mild element of that kind of sound- obviously people will be influenced by the bands they have listened to over the years. I think Stroszek have a lot of potential - people should check them out, its a pretty original sound within the context of the aberdeen scene. But I stick with my opinion that they need a drummer.....and maybe even another guitarist.
