  1. This is true, however why bother putting in the gig details, ticket prices, venue closing time and all number of minute details if you weren't absolutely sure of booking the band? Leave it until it's 100% confirmed and don't dash people's hopes. It struck me as idiotic when I saw it. Now someone will tell me that it IS on. Oh well!
  2. They are playing in Preston on the 25th, thus it appears to be a hoax
  3. Anyone got 2 spare tickets for Hot Chip? I believe it's sold out... PM me or post here! Thanks
  4. Have tickets for the Tunnels date gone on sale yet? Ticketmaster seems to deny the existence of any venue in Aberdeen apart from the Music Hall and Royal Aberdeen Golf Club.
  5. I can imagine that 7/8ths of your cd collection has fruit-based artists
  6. I think I can pick it up for a minimal amount of Euros. May do it.
  7. Surprisingly, I like them too. Also, in Sevilla there is a record shop that just happens to have the Kyuss/QOTSA split on vinyl. Should I buy it? (perhaps it is super-rare...)
  8. 1. In Bluer Skies - Echo & the Bunnymen 2. Glamorous Glue - Morrissey 3. Animal Lover - Suede 4. Io Sto Bene ( or something like that) - CCCP 5. Pin - Yeah Yeah Yeahs

  10. "Bengali In Platforms" by Morrissey. A protest against immigration, with the controversial line "Shelve your Western plans, life is hard enough when you belong here". Though I don't think he's racist
  11. 1. Mario Lanza (Or Was It Just Chardonnay Talking Tough?) - The Robocop Kraus 2. I Disappear - The Faint 3. Bengali In Platforms - Morrissey 4. All For You, Sophia - Franz Ferdinand 5. Ripeness - Echo & the Bunnymen "Bengali in platforms He only wants to embrace your culture And to be your friend forever" Great Franz B-Side by the way, folks.

  13. Actually' date=' he's not. I've seen him on a German TV channel, spouting rubbish at the half-times of UEFA Cup matches. I don't know how Thomas Helmer copes with his nonsense Thomas Helmer being co-presenter. And BETTER
  14. Who's supporting? Disposable Mohammed? Or is it PDOA Sevilla?
  15. No, it IS better, it's NOT worse, and it is different
  16. I'm surprised no-one has noticed, or at least posted this yet, but today Euskadi Ta Askatasuna, otherwise known as ETA, have declared an official and permanent cease-fire as of mid-day tomorrow. There are news bulletins aplenty here, that's for sure. One can't help but wonder what the interpretations of "permanent cease-fire" are, indeed the leader of the conservative oppostion, Mariano Rajoy, has expressed his cynicism over the announcement.
  17. Duffy's been given the heave-ho too, after only a month in charge. It's pretty daft to suggest that Rix took responsibility for the signings, as if he's going to demand of the board to sign a third-rate Brazilian loan from FC Thun. Big Eck, anyone?
  18. 1. Lately - British Sea Power 2. Who's Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses? - U2 3. Primary - The Cure 4. Everyone Says You're Fragile - Idlewild 5. Drug Song For Paula - Arab Strap "Do you like my Megalithic rock?
  19. Enough of your cheek, or there will be no "greeners by the sea" in Cdiz for you my man...!
  20. Josef K made one album, but didn't even bother to release it; instead, they bombarded us with great singles.
  21. I got a Ukraine victory against Spain in the final, with Argentina a close third, having defeated Serbia & Montenegro in the third place play-off
  22. But now, a serious point. I'm at Aberdeen Uni. I study what interests me, and I don't have a clue what awaits afterwards. And why the hell should I? I don't want my life to be mapped out before I can have the chance to change it. The prinicpal point of University is to increase knowledge, but also to meet new people who are sharing the same transitional experience. Studying Hispanic Studies has given me the opportunity to spend a year in a country that I like very much, socialise with people from all over Europe, make friends that I hope to keep forever, travel, learn about culture BUT at the same time learn a language that will give me opportunities in the work-market when I'm older. Work is inevitable, but excuse me if I don't like it And you know what? I feel superior to all those who haven't done what I'm doing, because I know that I'm LIVING, and they are not PS before the backlash starts, I'm fully aware of obligations or money issues that prevent people from such an experience
  23. I always wanted to be a referee for lesbian 5-a-side....
