  1. Criticising that ignorance by a similar sort of snobishness does you no favours, and the endorsement of something purely on the basis that it isn't something else seems a rather negative way of seeing things. As I understand it, you do seem to mainly listen to music made by computers, samplers, etc. There is nothing wrong with this. But to go and criticise others purely because they don't listen to that music just seems incredibly narrow-minded which, ironically, is your criticism of other peoples tastes. I know people that only listen to drum and bass. Now, drum and bass is great, I have nothing against it, but to endorse those individuals over someone who, say, only listens to music from 1900 to 1970 purely because the former has been created with more advanced technologies at a later time just seems really silly.
  2. I agree, although I didn't get the impression that this thread was about that. In fact, as I understood it, it was started by a post grumping about how things were not meeting certain 'standards', which were themselves illconcieved and poorly defined. From then on, language was generally abused by various others to dictate how things should be, neglecting to see either, how hypocritical their positions were, or, how subjective the things they were talking about were in the first place. Now it seems to have degraded into one idiots blinkered view that music isn't worth listening to unless it was it was made on a computer around five years ago. This is also despite all individuals involved knowing that this person is incredibly hypocritical, and, ironically, incredibly and obliviously closed-minded.
  3. Actually, my point was that NOOONE had anything constructive to say and that most people were just bullying each other and forcing their 'experience' down each others throat. Experience things for yourself. I have no intention of 'educating' anyone because, unlike some, I don't feel that I have the right to do so.
  4. Man, this whole thread is like the blind leading the blind. How borrrrrrrrriiiiiiiiinnnnnnnnnnnnnngggggggggggggggggg is it to listen to people go on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, AND ON, about 'standards', and 'professionalism' when noone really knows what they're talking about... I think we should all move to Glasgow, form shite alt-rock/subgenre/subgenre/subgenre bands, tour the country for 8 years, get 6000 tatoos, constantly focus ourselves, learn how to drum in 15/8, develop a backwards singing style and piss around on our high-horses talking about how blinded the rest of the world is to our innovative style. Only then will we truely have become accepted. Also, remeber that the ONLY way you can do things is DIY. Plus, Steve Albini MUST produce our record. And we should only release it on a label that hand-prints vynil in stables, on fire. And thou shalt only make 4 copies! Urrrrrrrrrrrr... Need... fresh... brains.... urrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr... I'd rather listen to a pub-rock Oasis cover band than some of these arrogant, totally idiotic and unoriginal idiots. Actually, fuck that, i'm going to listen to Bruce Springsteen. Have fun! PS. Sorry, I never post. In fact, I never usually visit but did today and found the same stupid discussion with arrogant, boring people dictating to others exactly how bands should do things and what standards they should have. I'm sorry Stuart, it's nothign personal, I just hate these sorts of things.

  8. lets face it, i was saving you a big dissapointment. also, it could only be a spoiler if something was actually REVEALED... although, on that basis, nothing could be a spoiler about lost... my prediction for the last episode is jack waking up in bed, relieved, anouncing that it was only a dream... then, looking out the window to see the statue of liberty buried in sand... then the camera panning out to see that the whole ending so far was actually just a vision taking place in locke's eye. of course, this ending would take place over 19 series and over 500 episodes.
