For anyone interested, Black Mountain are gonna be playing Glasgow ABC on november 25th. Think the support band will be Dead Meadow. Don't let their Coldplay support slot in america put you off, Black Mountain are great.

It was amazing. Aaron North is my new hero. Having seen the Icarus Line before I knew what he was like but he was just the coolest guitarist I have ever seen, he just didn't seem to care at all and it totally took me by surprise when he jumped into the crowd. He's also an amazing guitarist. I have one question though, where has trent reznors neck gone? he doesn't have a neck.

Have just come back from Barcelona where i went to the sonar festival and it was fucking great. You get to hear some brilliant music in the most beautiful city i've ever been to. There was a wicked John Peel tribute by Simon Russel from Rough Trade, Khonnor were awesome, as were Hot Chip. The night festival was amazing. Chemical Brothers, Le Tigre, 2 Many DJs, Soulwax, De La Soul, Cut Chemist, LCD Soundsystem, Luke Vibert and Richie Hawtin closing at 7am as the sun came up was unbelievable. Kanye West even made an appearance with De la Soul. It was the most good natured festival I have ever been to. I reccommend that anyone looking for a festival to go to abroad or are planning to go to Barcelona next june should check out sonar. Also the new Bikini Atoll album is really good.

Just thought I'd let the kids know that Chino Moreno of the deftones' side project, Team Sleep are playing Glasgow Garage on June 14th. Tickets on sale now. Goddamnit I can't go as Im flying to Barcelona on the 15th at 8.55 in the morning so won't be able to go and be back in the deen in time. Why do bad things happen to good people. Why???!!! Everyone else must go and pay homage to Chino and if you get the chance give him a hug from me.

Don't know if anyone has mentioned this but the beasties are playing glasgow secc on dec 4. tix on sale on friday or you can get them now through their website. Pain in the arse I bought tix for manchester thinking they weren't playing scotland but have bought tix for glasgow anyway. EBay here I come.

Velvet Revolver will be playing Glasgow Carling Academy on August 31st. The full line up of Slash, Duff, Scott Weiland, Matt Sorum and that gut that was in Suicidal Tendencies will be appearing. Not too sure about the album but may have to attend anyway.

Does anyone know who is supporting MC5 in Glasgow, I know that the Icarus Line are supporting in London. I hope they do in Glasgow that would make me super happy, plus evan dando is singin with them. Think he might also be doing some drumming.

I have to agree that the barbershop parts of the album don't do it for me but what you said about the guitars is spot on. I also like the lyrics which are a lot like At the Drive-In and Mars Volta, they make fuck all sense alot of the time but just fit with each track.

Just got the new tv on the radio album and it's pretty damn fine. Fucked up loops, saxamaphones, guitars and Curtis Mayfield style vocals. It's all there and it's all gravy. Plus they are from Austin, Texas and are friends of ....Trail of Dead which makes them good guys in my eyes. And for anyone put off by my description it isn't jazz but is ideal bong music.

Not sure if anyone has posted this gig but Pelican will be playing King Tut's on August 5th with support from Jesu (ex-members of Godflesh). They are on Hydrahead records and are amazing. If you like Isis, Earth or Godflesh then you'll love them. They will melt your face. All Mogwai fans should check them out if they like the louder parts of mogwai.
