  1. Does the Laney have bias points on the rear panel? I know they've got switchable bias between the two different types of valves it can host (5881's and EL34's). If it does, your life is comparitively easy as all you'd need was a way of reading your mA readings (generally a multimeter with 2 probes across the points) and knowledge of the optimal current ratings for your chosen valves. Otherwise it's going through something like this very very carefully.
  2. It means buyer beware. I personally don't give a damn about how wonderful ebay feedback is when the guy's known to be a bit shady on other boards. Meh, fill your boots Dave, go wild and buy it.
  3. How so? He's trying to sell you a guitar second hand for more than you can get one brand new!
  4. Look again Russell - you're quoting the Domestic price, take the international rates and you'll see it's cheaper. Because I got my ESP EC-I CTM FT SilB (2nd off the run of 6) for less than 1400 even after Shipping and Customs. You are right though - Shane is a great guy to deal with. Didn't have to dig too hard on the ESP boards to show this up - how to make friends and influence people right? Vote for T'Cat to keep his promise and leave the boards - ESP Guitars Message Board T'cat, how many forums have you been banned from? - ESP Guitars Message Board TCat, Please stop PMing me. - ESP Guitars Message Board A Real Picture Of Tcat!!! - ESP Guitars Message Board Hey T'cat Tell Us More About Your Band - ESP Guitars Message Board sorry been in a bad mood lately - ESP Guitars Message Board I am jealous of the SW though, wouldn't mind a GB either.
  5. and you can buy a brand new one of those + pay for shipping/insurance for less than that from here. Eclipse-I CTM FT 'Full Thickness'
  6. Sorry T'Cat. My one's better. You're still a douche and still lurking on the ESP boards I see as well.
  7. Stu - it's never going to be played again. NEVER.
  8. A Friend of a friend over in America has one of those Model T's. I'm so jealous.
  9. Rarer than hens teeth those! Never paid attention but why did Fender stop producing them?
  10. There's a lot of hub-bub about the VHT/Fryette/AXL saga. The current most popular one is Steve Fryette taking a loan from AXL and using the VHT name as collateral. When he defaulted on payments they took him to court and won. It's the real deal original VHT Sig X. The new line of VHT's don't have anything in common with the original Fryette designed amps. Small boutique style club amps rather than the versatile high wattage monsters originally created under the VHT name. You can find the new stuff at Fryette Amplification - site's a bit bare bones, apparently Steve must find creating the amps more appealing than spending time designing a website. the original VHT one was shit as well. Good job the amps don't suck or I'd be an unhappy bugger!
  11. actually - this might be worth a look at. It's just been released so god knows when it will actually hit shops or how much it'll cost... Original one was within your budget so this will hopefully be in the vicinity.
  12. I bought an ESP BMF EC-I CTM FT Silverburst at Christmas so hopefully that will cover my guitar playing needs for this year and I can concentrate on the following; VHT Sig X with VHT 4x12 Straight Cab (deposit's down - ooooh!) Randall V2 Archetype with Matching Cab (maybe 2010 for that) either an Ibanez SR-400, a Warwick Corvette $$ in Nirvana Black, a Lakland 4401 or a Sandberg Basic 4. A few pedals (Wah, Clean Boost, Analogue Delay etc) Rack o' doom (probably 2010 again but could get lucky) Genz Benz GBE-750 with a Genz Benz GB610-XB2 cab.
  13. Where's James with that massive article on Wattage, perceived loudness and Decibels? A miced up Tiny Terror could be good as has been suggested already.
  14. Bad News - it's again on Hold pending payment to none other than Jona Weinhofen of the band Bleeding Through!
  15. Well sad news is that it's back on the market as the guy who was going to buy it has lost his job and can't afford it any more. Still looking for 850 for the guitar.
  16. om nom nom! This is the quote that came with the pictures; Like that which has already been said; save your money and get something decent instead.
  17. yes, amazingly by looking on their website it tells you when they're playing and where...
  18. More bad news - sold pending payment! Play Bass in Element106 play a big variety of styles - though sadly I don't play _any_ of them well to be honest hoho! Trying to get an industrial band up and running but I need an amp first. It's going to be a VHT Sig X, a Diezel VH4/Herbert or a Splawn Nitro. Probably going to be either the VHT or the Splawn as they're about 800 cheaper and I could use that cash to get the cabinet and then next year get the Diezel.
  19. Bought new last November; looking to get 850 for it. The bridge Humbucker has been replaced with a Lundgren M6, the Middle and Neck pickups are the stock Caparison SH-N's and they're both coil tappable using the Push/Push on the Tone Knob. Inlays are pretty cool - Clocks marking the time as a fret position. (1st fret 1 O'Clock, 9th fret 9 O'Clock etc.) No chips or dings as the guitar hasn't been gigged but I had to drill an extra hole in the middle of the pickup ring to get the M6 to fit and when I was doing all that I managed to lose one of the screws holding the pickup selector in place so replaced it with a screw that doesn't sit flush, nothing affecting the guitar tonally. Only reason I'm selling is because I've got two ESP's coming and one of them has arrived at the shop far quicker than I was expecting.
  20. Jesus Christ - I remember that, I was in the queue behind them!
  21. I was technically on the end of that but christ almighty Kris was on fire for that one! Should go search belmont-street.com for the threads where I got him to sign up for it and he deleted his account in a gigantic hissy fit after being slated for trying too hard!
  22. Congratulations again Hawg - still gutted I never made the big day, the metering crew on the Apache Forties Charlie have a lot to answer for!
  23. Good call Dan, and welcome to the Caparison Family! Capa Dellinger I isn't it? I've got it's Neck Thru Cousin the Through and Through I, love it! Recommend you give the standard PH-R bridge pickup a blast before doing anything else to it! If you don't like that try a Lundgren M6 in there. Peter Wichers has rejoined Soilwork if you didn't already know!
