  1. Couldn't agree more - will be watching Glasto this weekend to see how the Boss goes down. Anyone enlighten me why there was a dude at the back of the stage painting pictures and the red telephone?
  2. Heartily agree. Shame there were a few twats who tried to spoil it for everyone - very apt of Neil to dedicate "Down by the river" to them.
  3. Still have this ticket if anyone is having a last gasp urge to go - 30 and its yours.
  4. If this is true then he's lifted a few lines from Dane Cook to embellish the tale - that whole bit about him blurting his dick was corn and saying "errm Heloooo" are on his "Harmfull if swallowed" CD
  5. I have one standing ticket for the Neil Young gig on Wednesday which I bought for a mate that can't make it now. I was looking for face value for it but I see a few listed on Ebay for a bit less so I'm willing to accept a decent offer from someone for it. I'd rather a fan got it than some sketchy tout outside the AECC. PM if interested.
  6. One time my cousin Walter got this cat stuck in his ass. True story. He bought it at the local mall, so the whole fiasco wound up on the news. It was embarassing for my relatives and all. But the next week, he did it again. Different cat, same results, complete with a trip to the emergency room. Then, last week, I saw him in the pet store. He was buying another cat! I said, "Walt, what the hell are you doing, you know you're just gonna get this cat stuck up your ass too, why don't you knock it off?" And he says to me, "Brodie, how the hell else am I supposed to get the gerbil out?" My cousin was a weird guy.
  7. Tom Waits - "Orphans, Brawlers and Bastards" Green Day - "21st Century Breakdown" Yeah Yeah Yeahs - "It's Blitz" Neil Diamond - "Home Before Dark" Marmaduke Duke - "Duke Pandemonium"

  9. >Bump!< Still looking for all of the above...
  10. Sex Pistols - No Fun Stiff Little Fingers - Johnny Was Elvis Costello - What's so funny 'bout peace, love and understanding? Dread Zeppelin - Heartbreaker Rage Against The Machine - Pistol Grip Pump (in fact the whole Renegades album is excellent) UK Subs - She's not there
  11. Just to update our last ad... Experienced guitarist and bass player looking for drummer and singer for guitar band. Anyone with keyboard skills would also be a welcome addition to the line up as this is a direction we would like to explore. Our last band recently split up due to that old chestnut "musical differences" and the both of us want to get straight back into it and start fresh with a new line up. We are open to most styles of music and are keen to continue developing original material rather than play covers. We are looking for people who can commit to a rehearsal of about 3 hours per week in evenings or weekends. The plan would be to work up 30 mins or so of original stuff and then start playing gigs once a month or so while we continued to develop more songs. We have a pretty good home recording set up and can provide examples of previous stuff we've recorded if anyone requests it. The idea is to have a bit of fun making the music we want to hear and get out there on stage now and again to let people hear it - we've got no real interest in "making it" and being famous etc so if that's your bag perhaps we are not for you. Influences would include most interesting guitar bands from the last 40 years or so but also various Electronica, Hip Hop and a bit of metal so we are open to anything someone else can bring to the table. Cheers for looking - please PM myself or Soundefex for more info.
  12. Darth Vader actor David Prowse treated for prostate cancer - Times Online Sad to hear this.
  13. Great idea. Cheers for this. Off to register for the Oasis stuff right now
  14. Got my two standing tix just before nine this morning - the SecXtra ticket page seemed to have a sale link up quicker than ticketmaster or Live Nation - I had all three up and running to make sure I got mine
  15. No worries mate - not your fault, just doing your job and all that:up:. Glad to have got to the bottom of what happened. Like Steve says above - if we'd known we only had 30 mins to play with we'd have been a bit sharper.
  16. If that is the case then my bad - I had no idea we'd cut into our time by so much. The wonderlands did play and extra song (the singer asked "can we do just one more?")which lasted about 6 minutes by my count and their set just felt looonng so I had assumed that was the major factor in cutting our set. Still, I'll take your word for it. Sorry again to keep you waiting - we weren't being prima donnas - honest! Steve, our bass player had to go for a piss right before we played- he only has one kidney (honest) which means nature calls more often for him and unfortunately he had to go just as we were about to play. I didn't think that would push us over time by much. I was under the impression we were booked to do 40 mins when Hen sets these things up. I don't handle the bookings but any time we played the tunnels in the past we've been able to complete our set no trouble regardless of where we were on the bill - (including the last time we played when being hauled off early would've been a blessing 'cos we were shite!) Our set as recorded at practice lasts just over the 30 mins (36 to be precise) but we were playing much faster on saturday 'cos everyone was sober this time. On the plus side the FOH sound for the other bands sounded good and the onstage sound was about the best we've heard in our very short career to date so it wasn't all bad - those new monitors made a big difference. At the end of the day we got paid regardless so its no biggie in the long run - it just felt like we were getting a raw deal at the time.
  17. Long overdue this one. Springsteen and Neil Young in quick succession. Shaping up to be a good year:popcorn:. Anyone know if there's going to be a presale link for this one?
  18. I dunno - were you playing in Tunnel 1 or Tunnel 2? I don't think it was you as the band on first were only a guitarist and bass player doing an acoustic set. I don't recall them taking all that long to get off stage. I didn't start this thread to offend anyone but was curious to see the kind of things other bands find acceptable/unacceptable when it comes to gigging - like playing over your time slot for whatever reason which then has a negative effect on the next band on.
  19. Thanks for catching that one Skuzz:up: Zed Machine can be found here... Zed Machine on MySpace Music - Free Streaming MP3s, Pictures & Music Downloads Next gig is at the Moorings on the 14th March.
  20. Yeah - especially when all their mates fuck off too. To be fair though, sometimes its unavoidable - we did a gig with a band called Kids With Fireworks once and they left before we played but they were nice enough to explain that they needed to head off early for a good reason before they went and then they sent a nice email the next day as well. I always aplaud other bands on the bill ...even if I think they're shite
  21. Disco is far too high energy for a typical sunday in my house. All that shake and vac shit gets done on Saturday A little Frank, Dino and Sammy sounds quite appealing though
  22. Oh, good - it's not just me who thinks this then. We have a 40 minute set which we stick to every time we play unless we are specifically requested to play longer.
  23. After playing a show last night in which we had to cut our set by two songs because the band before us went way over their slot by asking to play "just one more". I thought I might ask other gigging musicians on the forum for their tips on good gig etiquette Personally, I thought the above example was a bit shit but others might disagree (especially if you've heard us play:laughing:) Any suggestions for positive gigging behaviour?
  24. Was listening to Beck's "Sea Change" today while pottering about the house. Forgotten how ace it was and how much its mellow vibe suited a relaxing Sunday afternoon:up:. Anyone else care to share their Sunday favourites?
