  1. No particular order... Inception Toy Story 3 The Town Kick Ass
  2. You should check out his "Baby's Day Out" review. I think it was supposed to come directly after his AOTC review - has a bit more Nadine in it.
  3. "You gotta have presence on the court. Presence like a cheetah rather than a chimp. Sure, they both got it, but Chimpy gotta jump his nuts around to get it. The shy cheetah moves with total nonchalance, stickin' it to them in his sexy, slow strut. Me? I play like a cheetah."
  4. Saturday Night and Sunday Morning
  5. In the Line of Fire "You know if I wanted to get shot at everyday, I'd move my black ass to Los Angeles!"
  6. "For more enjoyment and greater efficiency, consumption is being standardized. We are sorry ... "
  7. Training Day? Try this one... "I just cannot believe any of this voodoo bullshit."
  8. Just started getting into it - only one episode of Season 1 to go - I thought it took a couple of episodes to really hit its stride but after that it has become umissable in our house. It's rare that I can find a TV show that both me and the Mrs will both enjoy but she's lapping Mad Men up as well.
  9. I knew about his film soundtrack work for ages but it was after I heard him perform this track Louisiana 1927 on the infamous Mardi Gras episode of Saturday Night Live that I got hooked and had to go look out more of his stuff. I couldn't find the actual clip on Youtube so this will have to suffice
  10. Stratosonic are currently two guitarists and a drum machine looking for a singer/lyricist. We are aiming for a kind of surf/rockabilly type sound (think The Cramps, The Clash doing "Brand New Cadillac" type of thing). We're both heading comfortably for middle age and are looking just to be gigging a few times a year and practicing once a week. We've got no illusions about "making it big" this is purely for shits and giggles. Interested parties can drop me a pm with their details - influences, singing style, prior experience etc and we'll be in touch. If you have any recordings of your dulcet tones by all means send me an mp3. Cheers:up:
  11. Hedberg was funny too but in a different way. Both he and Hicks had a slightly skewed perspective on life that came through in their routines. Hedberg also had to suffer morons calling out punchlines to his one liners as he became familar on the circuit. Both of them died before really reaching their full potential. Comedy is a subjective business - for instance, people rant and rave about how funny Russel Brand is but I find him an annoying cunt who can be mildly amusing at times. Back to the issue raised by the OP. I can't really see Crowe as Hicks either but I'll reserve judgement until I actually see it - I imagine a lot of people didn't see Dustin Hoffman as Lenny Bruce either but it worked.
  12. Got your pm - can you send me an email address so I can send you some tracks?
  13. Looking for a singer to work on original material and writing lyrics Our band has about ten mostly instrumental pieces worked out and need lyrics and someone to sing them! Interest from male and female vocalists is welcome. Ability to play another instrument (like Keyboard for example) would be a bonus but not essential. We are two guitarists both in our 30s. At the moment we have pre-recorded backing tracks to do away with the need for a drummer and bass player since both can be hard to come by. We have a diverse selection of influences too numerous to mention. Some of the stuff we've been coming up with sounds quite atmospheric and soundtrack-y but other stuff is more rock oriented. We've been messing around with a couple of covers just for laughs - Naked Girl by the Cramps and Dakota by the Stereophonics. Samples of songs available to anyone interested enough to drop a pm with their email
  14. Would you be interested in working on original material and possibly writing lyrics? Our band has about ten mostly instrumental pieces worked out and need lyrics and someone to sing them! We are two guitarists both in our 30s. At the moment we have pre-recorded backing tracks to do away with the need for a drummer and bass player - usually too hard to find! Ernie if you're interested we might be able to work something out too. We have a diverse selection of influences too numerous to mention. 15. Aye, music business these days could do with a few more characters like McLaren.
  16. I thought he was a parole officer? I saw the comment about basses and thought it was similar to my own experience as a left handed player - there's usually diddly decent for sale around Aberdeen.
  17. put me down as a provisional on the Red Special pedal please Dave.
  18. Genius! I was thinking about this clip the other day and wondering where I would find it since I couldn't remember what show it was from. Oh, and just to get this post back on topic I hate the fucking Black Eyed Peas
