  1. I was actually suprised to see the Sunday Mail (usually quick to jump on any "ban this sick filth" bandwagon) actually interviewing Manson and running an editorial that said it thought blaming him was a big cop out. Life is indeed full of suprises...
  2. Reminds me of an old Jello Biafra spoken word lp where he does a big spiel on band names - Electric Meat and Primer Grey Erection are two memorable ones that I recall amd would be good for any industrial or hardcore type outfit. You need to have a concept/theme for your band then the names should start popping out. Are you trying to be funny/serious or make some kind of a statement with your band?
  3. Desolation Row & Shelter from the Storm - Bob Dylan All of American Idiot by Green Day Hey Hey My My & Needle and The Damage Done by Neil Young Plush by Stone Temple Pilots
  4. <Ahem>, not thirty for another few months until then I'm desperately hanging on to the last scraps of my twenties ;-) Great! I was beginning to think that everyone on this board was miles younger. Any ideas how we can meet up?
  5. I'm in the process of streamlining my guitar collection or, to put it another way, my missus thinks I have too many! So, with that in mind are there any lefties out there who might need some new axe action? I have a White Telecaster style guitar made by Fenix. I bought it from Sound Control Dundee 10 years ago and have never seen any since! I did look them up on www.harmony-central.com and found some good positive reviews which match my own experience. The guitar is all white (incl. scratchplate) and has a maple (I think - light colour anyway) neck. It has been professionally set up as of last week and is in good conditio but for a few chips in the paintwork due to butterfingers and some marks on the scratchplate due to over-enthusiastic playing. As well as the guitar I am also chucking in the flight case to go with it. No discernible brand name but solid enough apart from a couple of minor tears. Also up for grabs is a Stagg 6-string acoustic which I've had for a year. Purchased from R&B. It is in immaculate condition and comes with a padded gig bag and strap - may also be able to throw in a few other little bits and bobs (capo etc) to sweeten the deal. Both guitars are currently in the P&J and Evening Express classifieds but the descriptions here are obviously a bit more detailed. Feel free to email any further questions to me and I will be happy to answer.
  6. Aye, cheers for the offer but you're spot on - too serious for me. I'm an enthusiastic amatuer who's turning 30 rather than 13! Best of luck in finding someone though - I saw you when you supported Hell is for Heroes and was pretty impressed.
  7. Guitarist looking for a band to join or fellow wandering minstrels to start one. Interested in jamming on covers for shits and giggles. Not really interested in starting a career as such but not adverse to playing gigs if enough talent can be gathered in one room to play one. Finding influences hard to pin down at the moment, but my current listening is probably a good (but not conclusive) indication. I grew up on metal and punk and still enjoy having a good three chord thrash but have widened my tastes quite a bit since my spotty youth. Anyway, in the words of Marti DiBergi; "enough of my yakkin" If you play bass, drums, guitar (if you can sing too that would be a bonus) get in touch!
