  1. in reference to hog in glasgow they have a hmv and virgin right next door to each other on the pedestrianised bit of of argyll street and where the fopp on union street is there is pretty much a hmv across the road from it. As for fopp being competition for One Up, i think the main reason there will be competition will be with new releases as both have them cheaper than hmv and virgin. And also the wildly boaring was indeed far better before the revamp.
  2. rumor over at belmont-street.com message boards is mint is soon to be closing
  3. It seems to me that most of the singles are instantly likeable as the record companies want to make as much money as possible, which is why a lot of the time when you buy an album it takes a few listens to like the other songs, but you do get the odd album that you like the whole of on first listen.
  4. not sure if it should be here or the wasteland but will stick it here what metal band are you? My Results: Death You are Death! You are one of the key inventors of modern day death metal. With every album you've always gotten better. You're well respected in the music industry. The metal world wept when your band creator passed away from a brain tumor. Symbolism is an important property in your music.
  5. Here is the set list from Muse's performance last night, taken from the setlist from the stage Hysteria New born Sing for Absolution Muscle Museum Citzen Erased Interlude Apocalypse Ruled By Secrecy Sunburn Butterflies Bliss Time is Running Out Plug In Baby encore: Blackout Stockholm

  7. The sister of Mark Hamilton from Ash had a bet with him and the rest of Ash that they would never make it, and use to tease him about it.
  8. http://www.onlineweather.com/v4/uk/city/Perth_outlook.html looks like it, hopefully it won't be that bad

  10. Bands that have recently played or will play the garage in glasgow, bloodhound gang, primal scream, ICP. Incidently this thread is 8th from the top in a google search for glasgow garage.
  11. i only really went to see Spike, stayed for the cuts then left to meet a friend. I was a bit worried that there didn't seem that many people there, but i presume it got busier as the night went on.
  12. ah ok sorry my appologies
  13. nope still don't see your point. Had hog written that post then i would agree with you, but he did not, he probably didn't know jake was going to write that.
  14. not really as it's not the almighty hog slagging off jaco its jake, and he never said he was above that sort of thing
  15. according to the Daily Record they didn't play any songs from after 1999! I really don't think they made the gig and just wrote anything. yeah it always happens, it's the same at football games (unless you have no interest in football at all).
  16. i had the worst view of all, but then i was supposed to be watching the crowd not the bands, and being stuck behind the sound stage ment my job was pretty easy
  17. not every one likes slipknot and korn, also during the mammoth delay between korn and metallica would you not have liked to be able to go and hear good local bands as apposed to the piped music they were playing? Korn did a great job getting the crowd ready for metallica but the wait drained all the anticipation out of the crowd, a few local bands could have kept it going
  18. i sold my ticket for the second day as the atmosphere on the wednesday was just so bad. Missed him on the wednesday but caught all the others. Thought there could have been more to do while waiting for the bands to appear apart from get food, drink, merchandise, pay a fortune for a fairground ride (that was playing dance music!!). Would have been far better if they had a second stage with local bands playing so you had an alternative.
  19. you only remember that far back? I remember the first appearence of scott and charlene
  20. i was in for an interview today, gotta wait til next week to find out, but seeing as it's for the popcorn bit and i spent six hellish years at McD's i don't see why i wouldnt get the job. I was told they were looking for 7 people but only had four permenant jobs
  21. got my ticket on sunday, made me skint but will be worth it
  22. yeah they were playing plenty of nirvana last night at exodus, sort of reminded me of the palace, although the rings don't really work that well on the small exodus dance floor
