  1. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! This is the night before I have to leave home at 9.30am to go to university in Edinburgh! A free gig as well! I'd definitely be saving up to get the train fare to Aberdeen for this if it wasn't practically impossible for me to go to this gig!!! Admittedly, I haven't heard Toxik Ephex but I think I'd like any band with a single called "Punk As Fuck". Free gig as well! fuck.
  2. This will be O.C.D's last gig with original line-up... because I will be leaving O.C.D after this gig. Munky (Saving The 9 drummer and recently, O.C.D's second guitarist) will be replacing me on guitar and vocals (?) after I leave, so he'll undoubtedly do a better job... Just to let you know that if you have a strange need to see O.C.D's original line-up, for whatever reason, Saturday night will be your last chance... well, you should come to this all-dayer anyway, because it will be AWESOME. Yes, out in the middle of nowhere, but still AWESOME.
  3. Yes, this will indeed be fucking ace. If the crowd actually gets down the front when bands are playing instead of standing at the sides, there'll definitely be a decent amount of moshing, human pyramids or whatever. If I'm still alive at that point anyway. If you're gonna be in Moray on this day and have any taste in music at all, you're going to go to this. Also, it would be good to see a few other people from Aberdeen through for this :-) ... as well as Filthpact (and their mad toastie-eating exploits) and the Planeteers (who'll probably have mad toastie-eating exploits as well)! This will rule, especially if the Fighting fuckin Cougars are in fact actually playing... fuck yessss.
  4. I've been advised to go and see the reformed Anthrax if I can... and I'd like to! I've got "Collection" (the 'best of') by Anthrax and even though I don't know what his name is, I like the singer on the "Fistful of Metal" album (especially "Metal Thrashing Mad") - good voice! As for reformations, a lot of the bands I like reform and tour, and it's not necessarily selling out or anything like that - at least I can say I've seen 7 Seconds live, when I would never have been able to, seeing as they're an American 80s band and I wasn't in America in the 80s...
  5. This was a great gig. Maybe it's cuz I barely get to go to hardcore gigs, but I was impressed by all 3 bands. Filthpact were amazing, and out of the touring bands I preferred Violent Minds. Restless Youth should've played for longer, damnit! The pit was good but I fell over and minced my elbow, which was shite. I didn't quite have the balls to be a part of the human pyramids, but they looked great. I see what you mean about VM being like that Hull band The Defected, Kirk. Reminded me of MDC :-) more though, which is good! Brett was also amused by asking me if Multiple Injuries were not from Hull, but in fact Hell every five seconds, which pissed me off. I spoke to loads of people who knew who I am, which was surprising but good. I'll get a review written and put up somewhere... and want to see the pics too!
  6. Hell yeah it will be!! Just going to the train station in a wee while... gig will be great... We've got a place to stay now so at least I won't have to sleep on the streets.
  7. Penultimate Filthpact gig in Aberdeen?! FECK! I really have to go to this now! I'm gonna come to this if it kills me, along with my friend Brett, who has a Filthpact patch safety-pinned onto his hat! I shit you not! Free packet of crisps for anyone who steals it off him. Maybe. Honestly, he walks about the place with a Filthpact hat! I thought I'd warn you now. But we'll be making the trek through from near Elgin, and we can stay at Brett's dad's, who lives in Stoneywood or Dyce or something, so unless we find somewhere else to stay, we have to walk 4 miles, bruised (from the pit!), tired and most likely very wasted, to get to where we're staying. Could anyone give us a lift there at all? Haha. Well, that or sleeping in the train station, which I'll settle for as long as it means I can go to this gig! Bry.
  8. This looks like it'll be ace!!! Haven't heard either band but I do like the sound of "fast and raw thrash influenced HC from Philadelphia" and "a blend of Bad Brains, Dead Kennedys and Goverment Issue". I don't know where the venue is and I don't have anywhere to crash afterwards, but fuck it... sounds like fun anyway!!

    UK Subs

Er... aye. I meant Sunday. It's Goldblade that are playing in Aberdeen in Friday...

    UK Subs

That sucks that the UK Subs aren't playing in Aberdeen this Friday... ... but O.C.D. are supporting them at the CCPC alldayer in Edinburgh this Saturday (2/4) - so if anyone wants to come along, we'll have a couple of spare seats in the minibus we're hiring for the day!!!! You'll have to be at my house for about 8am on Saturday, but never mind, cuz there's between 4 and 7 people coming with us, so the journey down will be a good laugh... good soundtrack too, cuz I'm choosing what's being played on the stereo! It'll only be about 5 towards the petrol, both ways, and the tickets are 15 at the door... so it'll only be 20 to see the UK Subs in Edinburgh, with us wretches fucking up horrifically before them (we're on at 4pm). Good deal, eh? Come with us, it'll be fun! www.ocdpunk.tk www.c-c-p-c.net
  11. The Declined's site is www.thedeclined.4t.com (or www.thedeclined.tk, I suppose). I was on it today.
  12. THE DANGERFIELDS my dad's garage, my dad's house, Lhanbryde, Moray, Scotland 7th November 2004 The Dangerfields playing the best set I've ever seen them play, in what is usually the O.C.D. practise space, in front of 30 other people crammed into the garage... amazingly, some people were actually moshing (or trying to). And the Dangerfields played "Astro Zombies"!!! I don't think I'll EVER go to a better gig in my whole life (unless the Misfits, Minor Threat, Dead Kennedys or Nirvana reform and come and play in my garage or something...)
  13. I mainly use HUBL also UndergroundScene as well as this one... but I hardly ever post here. Meh.
  14. Aw, no... they will never better the stuff on "Inflammable Material" and the stuff just after that ("Gotta Get Away" etc). They shouldn't even try to!
  15. Aw fuck, missed it again!!!!! I've meant to go and see SLF in March every fucking year since I got their discography - which was 2001. Maybe next year or whenever they're in Aberdeen next!
  16. Lucky bastard!!! I might go and see them in Edinburgh in April, whenever they're playing then. "Listen to Oi Polloi, but I don't hear the words..." - O.C.D. - "La Song d'Oi!"
  17. I wanna see Drunk Dave too! Great fun. Dangerfields on 10th of June??? Quality. That'll be an early 18th birthday present for me if it goes ahead. Still, this is the last time I'll be on here until the gig... is anyone definitely coming to the gig to take advantage of the half-price drink offer?
  18. Good thread... I was stoned when I first saw the advert, last Friday night, and I could not believe my fu'ckin eyes at first. I thought it was all a dream. But even my 14 year old brother, due to years of suffering my taste in music, looked up and said "Is that Black Flag on the TV, Bry?" Nice one It used piss me off when my favourite bands, who no-one else I knew liked, were in adverts or whatever, cuz idiots at school would invariably talk about that Coors ad (band: ?), or that "belly's gonna get ya" ad (band: ?) or once a Gap advert using the Ramones' name. They'd say "what an awful racket / that's stupid mosher music". Cocks. Now, I don't really care, but adverts in general piss me off. Fu,cking crap. "If anyone's in marketing or advertising...... kill yourself" - Bill Hicks.
  19. I'm just posting this on the off-chance someone on these forums will be in Moray this weekend or will want to travel through... O.C.D. (political, melodic, thrashy DIY hardcore punk!) Saving The 9 (like Send More Paramedics/Slayer) Julia's Shadow (like Biffy Clyro) Boleskine (like Megadeth/Down) Oddball's Heroes (like Blondie!!) Pinefield Community Hall, Pinefield Industrial Estate, Elgin (see map at www.ocdpunk.tk) 2 for tickets from Sound and Vision, 3 at the door - includes copy of O.C.D's new 11-track album "Obviously Corporate Dummies" on cassette tape!! (how '80s - that's the idea) Doors open at 7pm - should all be over in time for last buses home. It looks like it'll be great fun! Come along and see what us backward Moray hicks are trying to do! Sadly, you can't take your own drink into the hall, and you can't smoke weed in the hall... ...BUT ALCOHOL IS HALF-PRICE DUE TO STOCK NEEDING TO BE CLEARED!! Cans of beer for 50p, anyone? Anyone want to get drunk for way under 5?
  20. It took me ages to find this thread, but what a thread!! I didn't really know that Elgin had a decent music 'scene' in the 80s or 90s, all I hear is: The Beatles played Two Red Shoes in the 60s, as did The Who etc. Good to hear about the recollections of all you old-timers - I'd totally love to hear a DJ playing Napalm Death and Slayer in Elgin these days!! Being a young whippersnapper, all I've ever known is: the occasional ValidNight at the Town Hall/New Elgin... Hielan Jam Battle of the Bands (the one where Sirius won is the first gig I ever went to, when I was 12!)... and apart from that, complete boredom and apathy from people who go to gigs. Danny's first gig in September changed that, and as well as the Dangerfields playing in my dad's garage in November, we've played living rooms and garages. Filthpact on 26/2 hopefully changed things - great turnout (I think as long as any band plays in Elgin, peoplem will turn up and see them!!), good sets from all the bands (except O.C.D ) and everyone I've asked saying they had fun!! Hopefully now things will change, and even when O.C.D break up and move to Aberdeen/Edinburgh/elsewhere, kids who saw our gigs will want to follow Danny's lead and put on good gigs in Elgin in the future! That would kick ass. So fans of punk rock/metal/hardcore/extreme music will actually get gigs to go to and all will be well. In response to that thread about violent games - us fu,cks at Milne's High School in Fochabers only ever had British Bulldog, which was still pretty rough due to all the big guys from Lhanbryde going to Milne's... ah.
  21. Hi... I know who's playing at Battle of the Bands this Sunday at Cafe Drummonds... The other 2 bands are Skunk In A Bottle ('sketchy metal' like System of a Down) who are from Kingston/Spey Bay in Moray and Stereohype (www.freewebs.com/stereohype - metal like Pantera, Korn, Metallica etc) from Kingston/Fochabers in Moray. I'll be at the gig to support both bands as I have friends in both... but I'll give the other band that's playing a chance!! I don't care which band wins at all, just looking forward to a good night of music.
  22. I can't believe I only went to Drakes 5 times!!! Your list seems like a lot of fun, Kirk! Seeing as you thought Brehznev were so amazing, you could spell their name right... You hitting yourself in the head was a mic was one of my best moments - I remember trying to keep a straight face but failing. And the dancing to Gilman Street that night was hilarious! I'm ashamed I missed so many bands there that I would've went to see: Real McKenzies, Independents, Brezhnev, Consumed, Fighting Shit, Eat Yer Greens, Filthpact, Dangerfields... at least I might get to see some of those bands elsewhere in the future though. Aargh, should've gone there more often!!!! I only actually knew of its existence about a year ago! Duhh!
  23. Want to be touched by Dave? Must be one of the other 2 then. Or those strange Saving The 9 lads... But yes, all 3 of us are coming to the gig. This will kick serious arse!
