  1. heard a great one about some school kids: on the last day of term before summer the pupils watered the carpet of a classroom which, like many crappy 70s school buildings, had 2 full walls of windows. they spread grass seeds over the carpet and left mother nature to her work.
  2. Idlewild are fucking ace. Everyone should come see them in Dunfermlines on May 1st. Warnings Promises and 100 broken windows are my favs.
  3. The thing is, its not that all their new stuff is bad, some is great. But to me to jsut smacks of producers and record companies diluting excellent ideas until they are radio friendly. That and the live sets these days pretty much always leave out the vertigo of bliss and infinity land, and only justboy and 57 from blackened sky. What would i prefer to hear live: who's got a match, or eradicate the doubt... hmmmm..... edit: that said, they did play now the action is on fire with a string section the other year in dunfermline, so there is always hope.
  4. Won't be going. I really don't want to tarnish the memory of the 2005 king tuts shows anymore than they already are.
  5. I was going to make one, but thats cool. Can you make me an admin so I can invite people?
  6. I'm delighted to announce that I'm putting on this gig. Poaster to follow, I'm not very good at postery things... Fighterplanes - post-rocky and at times epic chaps from Edinburgh. Their top notch tunes can be heard at FIGHTERPLANES on MySpace Music - Free Streaming MP3s, Pictures & Music Downloads Min Diesel - jagged (and at times melodic) interesting indie with some lovely vocal harmonies. Gaining high praise everwhere they go, and have recently supported Errors. Check them out here: Min Diesel on MySpace Music - Free Streaming MP3s, Pictures & Music Downloads Winter In Siberia - Atmospheric, 'bleak and cold' soundscapes from Aberdeen - tune available for your shoegazing pleasure at Winter in Siberia on MySpace Music - Free Streaming MP3s, Pictures & Music Downloads Doors at 7:30 4
  7. shutter speed. but they'd totally blow him off stage.
  8. It was well intentioned, but logistically it wasn't going to work. Mainly because the old people and bar staff moaned about volume. If it isn't loud enough though, its shite.
  9. that drummonds gig with that line up was fairly busy. the school kids point is a good one...but I think they'd mainly be inclined to see punk, indie that kind of thing. Don't get me wrong, not all school kids listen to the kaiser cheifs and kids in glass houses, but there wouldn't be enough secondary school kids interested in seeing some post-rock and alternative bands to merit putting on a gig. cool thread though, interesting discussion
  10. Do you really think people would turn up no matter what? If i booked a venue and put on...lets take this recent gig I played in drummonds: min diesel, iname and y change costume do you think the locals will be interested? No. A few people from town will get the bus out, but other than that the locals would prefer to get pissed in the local ned pub (the new inn by the way, which is essentially a public toilet with a bar installed in one end).
  11. Can you actually write a sentence without using the word actually? Actually.
  12. Jairus were absolutely amazing. The drum sound was beasting!! Maths were pretty ace. The Ocean Fracture were good, until the guy put down his guitar and jsut did vocals. After that I got bored. Their guitar tone was terrible. Carson Wells were superb! Great guitar playing in particular!!
  13. Gutted I missed this, Jairus were amazing in tunnel 2, but I'm told nothing could compare with shutterspeed!
  14. I am told from a reliable source that stuart gives the best head.
  15. I love that on thursday evenings they have 30 minute band practises.
  16. DON'T PANIC AngelsAndDarkSouls (aadsofficial) on Twitter
  17. TWAT! That was liquid football! Wings. The band the Beatles could have been.
