  1. The Cut Ups! - Crazy Arm - Your Own Disaster - Calrissian + 15 Mins:18th Sept@Tunnels

    woah!

A combination of Camie, Greg Chaos + Me Presents........

    The Cut Ups!

brilliant melodic punk rock from Exeter. its hard not to imagine The Bouncing Souls and Lawrence Arms when listening to them. featuring Jon from the awesome Annalise. I cannot recommend them enough, heres a few snippets from Rocksound -

"Imagine pop-punk if it was stripped of all the bullshit, posturing and pretence. You're probably imagining something akin to Exeter's The Cut Ups. Simple, honest and engaging, they're an all too rare example of melodic punk rock played from the heart. With an approach to politics that's more Billy Bragg than Billie Joe Armstrong, frontman Jon explains the ideas expressed in each song without ever resorting to empty sloganeering. Not a bad way to spend a Sunday evening."

"Pure punk from the DIY scene in Exeter, The Cut Ups capture the punk rock ethos with unstoppable energy. Combining inspirational drumming with powerful guitars and socially aware lyrics, this band will have a positive impact on your senses if you only give them the chance. Do it."

    Crazy Arm

Touring with The Cut Ups, featuring ex members of No Comply and The Once Over Twice. coming across like a bastard punk rock country child of Johnny Cash and Joe Strummer. pretty guid like!

  2. absolutely devastated when i found out. he was such a motivator for all things music. especially the local scene. he will be missed greatley but never forgotten. i`ll always remember his enthuisiam, singing along with everything.

a floral tribute on moncrief island, near the bridge where he fell, in Perth has begun for anyone wishing to leave something in his memory.

all my wishes go to his family and closest friends.

R.I.P. Motion: great guy, awesome drummer, tragic loss

  3. aye but do they do all the promotion and organise local bands? thats why i dont wanna do it myself. i live in Dundee and it`d be a nightmare trying to get this organised from down here. dunno much about the aberdeen scene these days so i was just wondering if any bands that put gigs on would like to do this to help out these guys and to get a great gig out of it.......

  4. hi guys. im looking for someone willing to put on 2 fucking ace bands who are on tour from England -

    Shermer - www.myspace.com/shermertheband

The Machines Will Take Over - www.myspace.com/themachineswilltakeover

Shermer play gruff punk rock, not unlike the lawrence arms, blocko, gunmoll etc. very good and very decent blokes. Touring with them are The Machines Will Take Over who play very dancey angular rock similar (to me anyway) to Small Brown Bike and Spy Vs Spy. they are also top notch.

dates are booked in Glasgow, Dundee and Edinburgh so far but the date in Perth fell through. The date needed is TUESDAY 8TH AUGUST. I know its short notice but i hope that maybe you can help out. the guys will be greatful to be able to play any bill anywhere and dont need a lot of cash.

I had originally asked Kirk but he`s away on holiday and cant help so If you think you can do it, or have a bill sorted they can jump onto PLEASE help and get in touch with me.

    Thank you
