  2. Just reading that article on the guardian website reminded me of experiencing involuntary muscle spasms of disbelief and displeasure from that advert for 'John West Drainless Tuna'. The narrator says some ludicrous things like "Tuna, without the fiddly draining part" and at the end "Tuna without the drama!" Without the drama! Without the fu..... Has anyone been draining tuna before and halfway through just crumpled to the kitchen floor in a heap, choking on tears because the draining process was just too distressing?! Anyone slit their wrists with a tin-opener? "Excuse me, where are the peeled fruits? Peeling a banana is far too fucking awfully arduous." Praise Jeemus
  3. OK thanks folks, i'll have another play about. Thanks for all the advice!
  4. ok this may end up a little long winded so be warned! in Cubase i have cut a section out of an audio part (a guitar part) and pasted this onto a seperate track underneath it, exaclty in-line so it shouldn't sound like it has been cut as its played. I did this because i want different effects on this wee section (reverb to be exact). However, when i now play this bit, as the cursor moves past the cut and pasted section i hear a mad bleep, or similiar noise, and i don't want to hear that; it's horrid. Does anyone know anything about this and could you share some advice? I've done these cut and pastey shenanigans before and it's never happened. I might be doubling up that part too so the erroneous and rather aggressive bleep will only get louder and more offensive? Can anyone help? Cheers Davy. four on MySpace Music - Free Streaming MP3s, Pictures & Music Downloads
  5. ok, not a lot of people showing interest for the acoustic pedal but i have also decided to sell my Snarling Dog FireBawl Wah Wah pedal. 40. They're not making these anymore as far as i can tell. You could have both pedals for 75 if you would like that. Cheers, Davy.
  6. Hello, I'm looking to sell my Boss AC-2 Acoustic Simulator Pedal because i don't think i'll ever likely need it. Looking for 50 for it. It's basically brand new, i've played it a total of twice in my room. Box (sun bleached a bit) and manual all there too. I'm guessing you'll be able to find pics and reviews yourself... i did manage to get some nice sounds/tones from it it's just that i never ever use it. Anyone interested? Cheers, Davy.
  7. cheers guys! i'll mess around a bit more, look into phase reversal n that. thanks again.
  8. hello, i was just wondering if anyone had tips on how to get rid of software metronome bleeps from their recordings? had this problem a few times but as my new song is soley on acoustic guitar you can really hear the beeps in that background and its a bit shit. i only have an LE version of my recording software so it doesn't offer any other sounds for the metronome, like a click or anything, so beeps it is. the acoustic was just mic'd up and did the mic just pick up the bleeps from my headphones when i was playing or....? anyhoo, i've fiddled with the autogate and limiter in the dynamics but i seem to only ruin the 'naturalness' of the acoustic playing when i fuck with these (or i've not been patient enough!). but, yeah, can anyone help me oot? Cheers, Davy.
  9. thats quite a tidy looking guitar. no idea how it plays though. sorry. can't go wrong with a Pacifica, for under 200, in my mind! definately get back into it. s'great fun n that.
  10. i've always had a problem getting a set up, with distortion pedals, that i'm happy with. i have always used my DS1 as my main tone ie. crunchy chordy stuff but i'd like a boost on this for solos etc or even for just volume boost to be honest coz that is the only draw-back with the DS1 in my opinion. whenever i try different combinations to this aim the tone will always just totally change and become pish.... any advice? on a happier note though i got a Tubescreamer for my crimbo this year and i think it's fucking brill!
  11. hello. i'm currently thinking about getting reverb pedal and was wondering if anyone had some friendly advice/suggestions on good'uns. preferably one with at least two different reverb tones and not over 100 (a lot less would be ideal!). cheers folks. Davy.
  12. the best busking i've ever seen was in edinburgh where a tramp was lying on his back screaming boozy nonsense through a traffic cone. he had his hat out and everything. fucking genius.
  13. cheers Phil! in case you haven't worked out the human behind it all it's Davy. but yeah i want a band eventually but for just now i'm just entertaining myself. increase the dece!
  14. hello. i have finally created a myspace artist page with some of my tracks on; thought i might as well. just wondering what people think of them? it's indie/rock pop i spose so.... the singing is probably the most ropey thing but let me know what you think over all MySpace.com - four - UK - Indie / Rock / Showtunes - www.myspace.com/fourdavy cheels!
  15. hello. quick question; i was gonna upload an M.I.A. cover i have done on my artist page on myspace but myspace have all those mad warnings about copyright infringement etc which put me off. from my point of view it's just an inane, amiable faff-about but could it get me in trouble or am i being a guipe? i did put a bit of work into it in the end and would like some folk to hear it but.....? has anyone else put a cover on their page and had a problem or not? cheers folks.
  16. thanks for everyone's advice, seems like there much more stuff out there than i thought. incidentally i got that Computer Music magazine special with all the free vst's and its ace! i downloaded ezdrummer but havent been able to use it yet as i need update my cubase to use it. luckily the track i have been working on is an acoustic track in which drums are not a necessity, so i got it finished without pulling my hair out. i am reasonably experienced with home recording and the software these days but i can't help thinking that all this stuff is not as beginner friendly as it could be..... meh
  17. Best of luck Phil-bro! and the rest of the band of course! must be well 'citing!!
  18. i'm struggling to find flaw in the film. it was just fucking brilliant! from script, action, cinematography, pace, soundtrack, acting..... and Heath Ledger is amazing. one of the best performances i've ever seen. some people are saying it's the best film ever but thats mental. however, it is the best comic book film ever, hands down in my opinion. but even saying that doesn't seem right coz its so far removed from typical comic book films. christ, i got sick of people saying how good it was coz i thought that it couldn't live up to the hype and i don't want to affect anybody else's film but..... make up your own minds i'll definately go see it at least once more, if not twice. but then i am a bit of a Batman fanboy
  19. hello. has anyone got any advice on free drum loop software that i can download from the net? i would like to download a library/plugin more than just use a website that has thousands of individual loops that you have to download individually if you like them. i might be a little retarded when it comes to this stuff too but this is why im trying to find out i spose. i use cubase to record my stuff and just need drums basically and drum loops are much better and easier than making my own patterns from scratch. fanks folks!
  20. Selling my Art & Lutherie acoustic because i never use it. I have another (crappier) acoustic that i much prefer the sound of. It has sat in its hard case for about a yearish now but is still in v.good condition; maybe a few scratches around the scratch plate and you may want to change the strings. A very nice looking guitar and they are great acoustics but i just dont like the way it plays. I'll also throw in the case. All yours for 60. If you are interested just PM me or reply on here. Cheers! Davy.
