  1. 12 pages and no mention of THE (fucking) KILLERS!!!! tell me i'm wrong??! these fucking cuntfucks make me want to reach into my own anal-pocket and pull out my insides. funny thing is i wouldn't mind them as much if everyone didn't tell me how good they are... honestly didn't mind them when they first came out. Thought "ok, boring but harmless enough, they'll fuck off soon..." alas. sweary!
  2. Lyrics to 'Ladders' from my myspace Star Rover on MySpace Music - Free Streaming MP3s, Pictures & Music Downloads Ladders: Lean the sentences against a tree Grip the words and climb Sitting in my ivory tower Build a scaffold all mine Then it comes to warmth and spatial flickers Your temporal experience fails, it figures You don't know what I've been It's bigger than me and you You don't know what I've seen It's wrinkled me right through These building blocks build defences and construct a stage With eloquence my retinue will never age Take me out on a winter's night and we'll travel again Confusion in the supermarket Wait for the windows to blow in Pages lit by halo but don't bow your head Chew and swallow then flex and spit out instead Here I close There is no death Life is spirit and spirit can't die Spirit endures Builds upon itself As it works towards the light Lean the sentences against a tree Grip the words and climb Sitting in my ivory tower Build a scaffold all mine Then it comes to warmth and spatial flickers Your temporal experience fails, it figures Cheers, Davy.

  4. i've been using ezdrummer for about a year now and although i was pleased with the intial results and i think the drums sound great it's not versatile enough. the drum loops are all very samey, i realise that you can get additional libraries and plug-ins but i'm right in thinking these cost? doesn't seem that worth it tbh. plus to create a drum beat from scratch takes a long time. you know what?! you can have a listen to ezdrummer in action here Star Rover on MySpace Music - Free Streaming MP3s, Pictures & Music Downloads shameless plug!!! hheheheh

  9. Went to see 500 Days of Summer and absolutely loved it. Maybe not as much for the film itself but for all the references if you know what i mean. Film's still very clever and quite unique though. Although, i've read 3 or 4 reviews and talked to a couple of folk who have seen it and no-one has mentioned that it's basically Essays on Love by Alain de Botton. I cottoned on to this early on but never really applied my theory until Tom is reading Architecture of Happiness on the train, and from then on noticed 2 or three examples/scenes that are almost lifted from the book. I'm just surprised no-one has said this yet that's all. Brilliant book though and great film!
  10. Batman is great, the game is great and being Batman in any capacity is great. Let's all have a great time!
  11. i thought cheetahs could run like 70mph?? and no human (almost no cars) can match it's intitial acceleration?? am i being stupid?
  12. Hello again, thought i'd try and fish for some constructive criticism again... the last few attempts have been rather unsuccessful. I've been quite busy putting new songs up you see. What do you think of my music? Anyone moved enough to comment?
  13. Hello folks. I was wondering if anyone had some handy advice for using a PA during band practice for lead vocals to maximum effectiveness? Ignoring mic technique for the moment (that's up to me innit) i would just like to know what settings are typical and what effects to use and how to apply them. My vocals do not seem to come through very well and i know that it's, at least partly, to do with my noob skills with the PA. I'm never happy with how it sounds and it's no fun for anyone watching me dick around with settings and wasting rehearsal time. We play indie-ish rock with loud chords. Can anyone help?
  14. Hello. Was gonna start a new thread but i'll just hijack this instead. Does anyone have a recommendation on a good, free online synth i can use as a vst in Cubase. I know there was a thread of free VST's on here a wee while ago but i'd like to cut straight to people's kind advice instead of trying out a load of pish ones. I'm looking for a synth that would be good for sorta ethereal, chordy keys stuff. Anyone? Cheers!
  15. i was thinking about a similar thing to this the other day in that you get different types of music 'listeners'. People who consider music art and people who consider music entertainment. The arty camp are more likely to get more heavily involved in music and enjoy all the parts of how it's created, and these are the folks that will take the time out to consider (or just realise) when a musician is truly skilled and/or unique. It just so happens that musicians or the art group also love to shut off their brain and let the music take over... a lot... possibly while under the influence. I am a guitarist who loves everything about music but i feel just as blown away when i hear something incredibly difficult as i do when i hear a massive swelling brilliant chorus that's really quite simple. I get the spine tingles for both. It really comes down to bewilderment for me, i can't believe folky fingers pickers sometimes for example, i just have no idea how it feels to play like that or how to start to dissect it but as a songwriter i feel the same way about a near perfect vocal melody/harmonies. This is exactly the same reason why i love astrophysics and quantum physics but this aint the time nor the place!
  16. When i see a supermassive fat mess i feel annoyance also then a little bit of guilt because i know i really shouldn't be angry at them. But the first emotion i feel is pity, i feel desperately sorry for this behemoth, struggling down the street, pulling air through squashed lungs and blood through gungy arteries. It must be like walking home with 6 shopping bags under the sea. Then this becomes annoyance i think due to the fact that i employ effort every day to stay as healthy as i can and this person appears to be a lazy bas. And then if they smell aswell..... smelliness is definately laziness! Also, i don't suffer fools gladly and i see obesity (excluding disorders) as stupidity. It's not hard to work out how to get thin, the hard part is will power right? But when you see a fat, one of the ones that looks really tired and sad, ordering a pie or a Macdonalds does logic not kick in at that point? I am convinced that one cannnot be obese and entirely happy. Some may appear and tell you they are happy but their health (and appearance) must seriously affect their mental state. Choice is good. Choosing to damage your health is bad... and annoying to others in the end.
  17. Hello. I am selling my Rockness 2009 Weekend ticket for 130. I now need a camping ticket. Anyone who fancies this just PM me on here. Cheers, Davy.
  18. Boston is possibly my favourite American city, and i've been to New York.
  19. Hello. My (24th) burfday falls on Friday 5th of June which is when the Beer Festival is in full swing this year at Pittodrie and i'm thinking about attending with my matez. I was wondering who has been and can tell me if it's any good? It sounds like an opportunity for a good laugh but i was worried that it may be filled with austere foodie types who would be seriously offended by our presence... y'know, a birthday night, might get a bit loud we don't want to go somewhere terribly boring after all! And, don't get me wrong i'm genuinely interested in the mad beer n' cider flavours but that will only last about 4 or 5 pints tbf. So yeah, is it a fun time knees-up or a serious tasting meet? Any help is appreciated! Cheers!
  20. Hello, thought i'd update this for a wee bit more feedback if possible. I have now assembled a small retinue to play these songs so it feels a little more legit. Just wondering if it's music to peoples ears? Or just meh? Or fucking shit? (try put it nicer though )
