  1. It's cool to see so many people still using 4/8 Track recorders these days. Kudos. I could never figure the damn things out!
  2. So far, so good. Since they've finally added multi-track Beat Detective and ADC, it's almost as good as having HD. Obviously, the higher the spec of your computer, the better it'll run. But I'm liking it. Just a few tweaks from PT8, which I also liked very much. Eventually, I'll get a new interface to replace the 002, but it'ls good for now
  3. Running Pro Tools 9 on a 27" iMac i7. Digidesign 002R as my main interface with a Motu 8 Pre connected via ADAT. Yamaha HS80M Monitors and Sony MDR 7506 headphones for playback/tracking. Mic wise, I have... 4x Shure SM57, Shure Beta 57, Sennheiser MD421, Matched pair of Oktava MK-012's, Shure SM7B, Audix D6, 2x AKG C1000 and there's an AKG D112 kicking around somewhere. Needing to get a new condenser mic. Other stuff. Couple of home built DI boxes, a home built re-amp box. Made all of my bass traps for my room. I used my amps (pictured) for re-amping through. Sansamp Bass Driver for bass guitar. Got a few plug ins, Autotune, Pod Farm and a few others. I've got a Macbook that I take out for location recording of drums. I don't have the space in the house, so I just load my rig into the van and go to wherever a band rehearses. I've got enough ins to record a live demo, but I've not done it yet. One of these days I'll give it a whirl I think. Pod Farm is handy for DI'ing the guitars. Means I can track well into the night and re-amp once I've got all the good takes down. I live in a semi(lol) and I don't wanna upset my neighbour too much. Though, he doesn't seem to mind the noise, but... I like to be respectful. My recording room is right in the middle of the house so I guess since it's not right on his wall, he doesn't hear it so bad. I'm still getting into all this recording malarky. Been doing it part time since May and working tirelessly at it. I'm realising the errors of my ways. Pictures... My desk is very messy, not tidied up since I got back from helping out on a project in Aberdeen. (playing FM2011 there... 2-0 to me!) And my amps/rack (the two spaces are going to be filled in with an input panel. I'm just waiting for my mate to wire it up for me) For the OP, I fuckin hate the sound of my voice. I really hate soloing it back. Makes me cringe Mainly got into recording to save my band money, but we've hardly written any songs since I got my setup to a good standard. Typical.
  4. There's one in this thread... http://www.aberdeen-music.com/forums/equipment/62905-orange-ad30htc-pedals-cabs-sale.html
  5. Biasing your amp cold will make your output tubes last longer. This isn't a bad thing, especially if you're running your amp very loud a lot of the time. If you bias your tubes hotter and use the amp loud a lot, the life of your tubes will decrease quicker. If you bias your amp hotter, you'll also get saturation earlier than if you bias them cold. Pretty much every amp company put their amps out biased very cold, mainly to make the tubes last longer. With your Bugera, I wouldn't worry about it being biased hot. It'll work quite well biased on the cold side.
  6. You can bias your amp as you please. It doesn't have to be exactly as they say. My Peavey is biased a lot colder than the tubes should be biased at. The ones in my Marshall are probably the same. Nice choice of tube, I put them in my Marshall. Best thing I did
  7. People seem to have taken his words out of context... saying that, this is a thread full of drummers, it's not like there's a load of brains being thrown about the place.
  8. Buy the 2x12 he's selling as well as the cab in a package

    Drums for sale

That seems fair? Really? Who you trying to kid? Everyone can clearly see that you bought the kit for 350 and now you're trying to flip it for more than that with less gear? You could've at least started a new thread and I wouldn't have batted an eyelid.

  12. Sounds like the pickup is either dodgy, or someone dodgy installed it. I had one of those pickups and it was a beast. My mate has one in his Tele and it sounds great.
  13. I've bought two guitars from Japan. Best thing to do is add on about 20%, by the time you get your VAT and handling fees added on, it usually equates to that much. Don't get the company to declare the value as lower than it actually is because if it gets fucked up in shipping, then you can't claim the full amount back. Sending as a gift has its flaws as well, but it's your best bet. My housemate bought a guitar from Japan, for some reason he never got charged an import tax on it... the bastard

What sort of prices are you after for these? Might help the sale along and bump up interest.

Do you have one of these? I'm just kidding with you. JJ's will likely do the job

Hot Rox = Good, Watford = overpriced! What amp do you have? I just got a set of Svetlana Winged C's for my Marshall and they're badass. A lot of recommendations for these for hard rock/metal. As for preamp tubes, I'd replace the power tubes and see if you're happy. If you still think it's not as good, get the preamp tubes replaced. Preamp tubes should last a lot longer than the power tubes. I'd say twice as long. If you're looking for a slight tonal change in your amp, replacing the tubes closest to the input jack will usually help in most amps.
  20. Has that Strat got Hot Rails in it? Got any better pictures of the guitar?
  21. WHAT? YOU'LL HAVE TO SPEAK LOUDER!! But seriously, I use Doc's ones on the odd occasion that I feel it necessary to wear plugs. My hearing is gonna be fucked fairly early in life. fml
  22. If that were me, I'd be running. Guitar->Tuner->Compressor->Ovedrive->Synth
  23. GFS are a good shout. Put some of the big pole piece single coils in a Telecaster.. so good!
  24. lame guitarist used to fix pedals I think.
