  1. Thank goodness you posted this up, I wasn't aware this date had even been announced, never mind tickets on-sale. Managed to get a couple for the balcony, which I prefer to circle, other than that I won't have the opportunity to "gurgle from the circle".
  2. What do you reckon will happen to the Main Stand after any re-location, given its listed building status?

    Shrooms

Ah well, I'll just wait till DVD and see something else this wknd - a toss up between America Gangster (you seen that yet?) and Golden Compass

    Shrooms

No spectacular "shroom" psychadelic effects adding to the terror?
  5. Thanks for posting that. It's boosted my opinion of Mozza. Not so much because it's convinced me that his views on immigration aren't a bit dubious, but as it demonstrates his skill as an eloquent, arch and intelligent entertainer, and someone to rile at your peril, but definitely not a moral compass. If you check the actual Guardian article you'll see that Morrissey has quoted the judge in his case v. Joyce and Rouke (refering Moz) in describing the NME as "devious, truculent and unreliable". If nothing else he's certainly got a sense of humour.

    Shrooms

Been wondering about this one myself. The reviews I saw were pretty bad, but I've got a feeling it might be one of those that is so bad it's genius. The premise is good - had some pretty horrific times on the old shrooms myself! o_O
  7. Aye you French folk, coming over here saying the Poles are alright, inflicting filtered disco on us, not so smart in 1939 were you?
  8. You could always just ignore the thread if you think it's boring.
  9. We beat Barcelona over 2 legs, were level with AC Milan over 2 legs (essentially we lost though but didn't they cuff Man U in the semi and beat Liverpool fairly easily in the final?), the 2 goals we scored at Old Trafford would have come into play if we'd been level on points with them last season and eh, well yeah not a hell of a lot else I'll admit (and already have done so above). What I think does make a difference though is that Derby, Sunderland and Wigan (and that's that standard of teams that you suggested we'd struggle against, but I'd say we'd beat, Arsenal and Chelsea are a different matter) are not the same standard as the teams that qualify for the CL group stages, and travelling down the motorway to Derby can't be compared to flying to the Ukraine, Italy etc.
  10. They are your words not mine. As you'll see above I said that I'd be happy to avoid relegation in a first season in the EPL. And with regard to those two ties, they were against higher calibre opposition than Wigan Sunderland and Derby, we got a result home and away, and most importantly they are all they evidence we've got to go on because Wigan Sunderland and Derby won't make it into Europe in the near future (well perhaps Sunderland in 2 or 3 seasons), and Celtic and Rangers probably be won't ever be in the EPL. But if we did ever have to play them in a competitive match I'd be pretty confident we'd beat them, probably fairly convincingly.
  11. We beat Blackburn and Liverpool away from home.
  12. Yes. Can I have some of the drugs you are taking please, they must be pretty mind blowing. Celtic effectively beat the English champs Man U over two legs last season, and kept a clean sheet v the European champs over 180 mins. I know we can be a bit Jeckyl and Hyde and don't travel too well in continental Europe (our record on our travels in England is much better), but to say that we (or Rangers) would beaten over a season by English relegation strugglers has no basis whatsoever.
  13. Those stats are for Champions league games only (not UEFA or CL qualifiers) - still pretty dire though :O
  14. I am Celtic fan, and I think top 4 or 5 is a bit ambitious. If it did happen I think the main objective would be to avoid relegation first season (though mid-table or a UEFA cup place wouldn't be out of the question), and with the increased spending power go for a Champions League place 2nd season. I can't see it happening though as the majority of English clubs don't want it and probably never will. Don't really want it myself either though it is pretty annoying being out-bid by the likes of Fulham and Middlesborough for players.
  15. A friend of mine regales me with a story about the Rolling Stones stopping at a (the ?) hotel in Laurencekirk on their way further north for a gig in the early '60s. They didn't play an impromptu gig or anything else of note really, they just stopped for a piss or something, and that's enough for a cracking story.
  16. Aye, there were some hilariously ludicrous stuff there in my day... I shagged the sexy Librarian, it was crap I hate trial separations Lynne ---- is a dog, call her mutton-face
  17. Good word! and used as far north as Caithness where they speak a dialect that isn't Doric, Gaelic, and probably not all that close to Scots either. Have e teuchters up yonder nicked 'at off e Doric cheels?
  18. What / where is "the last Homely House"?
  19. Nor do they listen to trance old chap, a propensity which you have shown a worrying predilection for elsewhere on these very forums.
  20. Do you think everyone should speak in RP like 1940s newsreaders then? Who are these comrades of yours who feel that speaking in regional variation denotes low intelligence? Does it apply to all dialects or just Doric? Any other handy indicators we can use to identify and avoid the feeble minded? The shape of their skull perhaps?
  21. Yeah, get with the times Stripey you relic. And why would having the slogan in Doric at Aberdeen airport be a joke?
  22. Aw come on, there must be some band or act that you really can't be fucked with and wish they stayed in their bedroom (perhaps with Carbon Monoxide as company)...Craig David, Maroon 5, Plain White Ts, The Feeling, The Fray or such like - try it, it's fun.
