  1. That's uncanny - I just posted something about Eyelyn Glennie on another forum a minute ago.
  2. My tongue was indeed residing in my cheek slightly while I was typing that, but I do think that if a girl is trying to lay into you, you have the right to at least give her a good shove. Then if she persists, give her another shove. If she keeps trying to hit you, restrain her until she gives up and realises you're stronger than her and resistance is futile. If it turns out she's actually not that weak after all, it's sheer idiocy to not hit back, although I'd advise going for a non-face shot, ideally to the stomach to wind them. However, this is true for men AND women. I don't see the point in just randomly starting on someone, but I don't see why you should have to run from someone who's hitting you either, unless you know you're not going to come out on top. What does that solve? They still think it's alright to hit people, and in fact they'll think they must be pretty hard to make someone run from them, so they'll do it again. However, show them that if they start on people randomly they're going to get a fucking surprise, and perhaps they'll see the error of their ways.
  3. Good point, I forgot to put xxx or at the end to show I'm not being entirely serious.
  4. I'm all for equality, so if a girl starts laying into you, I say give her a good thump in the face like you would to a bloke. Or at the very least give her an elbow to the stomach. Obviously this is assuming the girl is actually quite hard. Although the time my sister tried to hit me at Leeds festival, I just gave her an almighty shove and that soon put a stop to it. But then I wouldn't have had to resort to grabbing her wrist and twisting it anyway cos she's not exactly Mike Tyson.
  5. As a punter, I'd say Moorings. But for playing, I'd say Moshulu, and that's what I voted for.
  6. Stefan Dennis - Don't It Make You Feel Good Stefan Dennis - Don't It Make You Feel Good Stefan Dennis - Don't It Make You Feel Good Stefan Dennis - Don't It Make You Feel Good Stefan Dennis - Don't It Make You Feel Good 5 times, cos it really makes me feel good.
  7. They sounded ace when I heard them practising before us the other week. Although I heard this track on Radio 1 last night that I thought sounded like them, but it was someone called Duracell. Still, ridiculously poppy and catchy stuff. Oooh, I wrote "poopy" there at first.
  8. *obliges* Archives Of Pain If hospitals cure then prisons must bring their pain Don't be ashamed to slaughter the centre of humanity is cruelty There is never redemption any fool can regret yesterday Nail it to the House of Lords you will be buried in the same box as a killer' date=' as a killer, as a killer A drained white body hangs from the gallows It's more righteous than Hindley's crochet lectures Pain not penance, forget martyrs remember victims The weak die young but right now we crouch to make them strong KILL YELTSIN, WHO'S SAYING? 9. The Tears were superb I thought, although I hear they sound better live than they do on the album. Butler was absolutely immense. Anyway it was enough to get me to dig out Dog man Star, which was enough to make me decide to finally buy the debut too. Which I will do. Eventually. Radcliff's a sound bloke like. I regret not saying my "I've heard he plays his frets well" pun when Stephen Fretwell came up in discussion
  10. I hated these when I first heard them, but listening to them properly just now, I'm liking them. 1912 is my favourite I think. Apart from it I reckon I prefer the old stuff though But maybe they're just growers. Not sure if I'm too fond of Wind, but that could just be the recording - it sounds like the song itself could be good. No wait, when it picks up after about a minute and a half, I like it. The end's a bit naff though, but nothing that can't be fixed relatively easily. I'll be keeping an eye (ear?) on the progress.
  11. Do you think the reason we're ahead is cos I told about 20 folk to vote?
  12. Queen Adreena were ace, but I was a bit disappointed they never played Pull Me Under, I Adore You or Pretty Polly. Razorblade Sky, Cold Fish and In Red were absolutely awesome.
  13. I gathered that purely from the soundcheck! "Wayne, Wayne, Wayne..." Bet THEY wouldn't have lended folk their bass amp
  14. I'm well interested to see what it's actually going to look like. And if Burnham's gonna be helping with it, I'm sure it will be entertaining at the very least
