But those prices are very good for the gear as it is.
  2. A Marshal JVM100... Excellent excellent amp....
  3. Well that goes without saying I guess... Was just trying to be unrealistically optimistic...!
  4. There are many places in Glasgow that bands can play and avoid the P2P, unfortunately the most well promoted and plastered is the bigger promo companies that sound great but are ripping off inexperienced bands. Although it is getting better. But thats nothing new... I hope the guys get their bus filled...
  5. The only thing I would say is that the newest range in Line 6 Amps such as the Flextone III or Vetta II are not in the same bracket as the PODS and previous versions. I have played alongside pros here and in the States that use a flextone 3... With a very cool full sounding tone indeed. I am not saying that a full valve amp doesn't sound better, because of course they do, (the Engl at the Moorings is probably one of the best sounding heads Ive ever played) but the new Line 6 gear is easy for some guitarists to set up for all their songs patch wise, and somewhat more affordable an option too... And doesn't deserve the same Line 6 stigma as previous models and amps IMO. I have the DL4 and it is an excellent pedal now that I have had months to sit and work out how to get the best from it... A DD-3 or DD-6 I believe would be a better option in terms of being flexible and easy to use for jammers and first time users as part of a gig set up.
  6. Plus theres only so many tickets for so many places... When the whole of scotland often has to fight for tickets to one glasgow arena gig, people will lose out. So I think this is a very good idea... And something I would love to see other acts doing. And the way their previous gigs sold out in muties... I certainly don't think they have a problem attracting a crowd.
  7. Fair play to whoever thought this up... Good idea for the fans.
  8. Very surprised that its not the aecc... They ab packed out an arena tour across UK... and are now playing music hall... Oh well...

    Casino Royale

Saw it on Friday night... Was most impressed... Craig is gonna make a great bond...
  10. According to AECC website and secxtra last night tix are sold out... But I do believe ticketmaster was allowing tix to be reserved still for pickup at venue. I may be wrong.
  11. Ciao Napoli... Lived in italy... IT comes the closest to the real thing up this way by miles... Rusticos is also good.
  12. Yeah... no coincedence that he says he's scaling everything back to retire... In particular touring. Then he announces he is divorcing his wife... And now all of a sudden he wants to commit to long term future album and touring plans with Genesis.... Hmm....
  13. FYI http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/6064022.stm
  14. The restrictions are pretty much back to usual... Just absoloutely no liquids in hand luggage...
  15. Cue the American national anthem... All together now...
  16. Just drop me a pm or reply to this thread... I should've said!
  17. How long you been playing? how old are you?
  18. I could be interested in this... have ideas myself... Im a singer and guitarist , been playing for over 10 eyars. My influences tend twoards muse/pearl jam/coldplay/snow patrol killers... Anything really. Also have a bassist in tow, however we are looking for the right combination of people.
  19. I know there are quite a lot of 'drummer required' threads out there and unfortuntely this one is no different im afraid to say... However... If you are aged between 18-25 and are interested in joining a startup band looking to write original material along the lines of Muse/Snow Patrol/Coldplay (Well... in a way)/Mogwai/Deftones/Pearl Jam. We are three guys with live and studio experience, looking to do something new, but its the first time we've all worked together. We have a practice pad all set up as well... (prob best in town!) We aren't too fussy as long as you are a good guy (or gal for that matter!), committed and can play... Any takers? Or any questions?
  20. I thought you had a singer?
  21. Would you be looking for something strictly to those styles you describe?
  22. PaulDW

    need a drummer?

What kind of stuff are you looking to do? Covers or original material?
  23. I knew he was very ill.... But this news was shocking... He was so very young... A great talent, future world champion without a doubt, but now we'll never know.
  24. So... Does everyone mime now? Is that basically whats happening? Never quite understood the point on basing a music video in a live situation... and then miming it anyway...
  25. Each to their own... I have been a queen fan for over 10 years now... Heaven for Everyone (Made in Heaven album) was created by all three members and had Freddie input, Freddie also said he wished the band to continue, and john deacon retired full stop. Mr Deacon also gave his consent for the tour... I saw Queen + Pr on three occasions on their tour, and while PR did not suit all material, some of it was fantastic, and the likes of May were on fire, he is playing better now than he ever did. And I am a huge PR fan so therefore I thoroughly enjoyed the show. Brian May and Taylor were closest of friends with Freddie, and i don't think anyone can be in a position to know what Fredie would have liked or not other than those two... Im glad the likes of Taylor and May are still out there. They are extremely talented musicians... They got up and played over 2 hours of great music... Plus do you know how much of this takings from these shows did not go to the eprformers, they were in fact diverted into the Mercury Pheonix Trust... the FM Aids Charity? We Wil Rock You is heading to be one of the biggest grossing musicals ever... It still fills the theatres... Not only in the UK but all over the World now... I think the musical works, and it has a level of drama and campness which Freddie would have appreciated. But these are genuine Queen fans who want to hear the music... And they'll get it from wherever they can. And the house band at the Dominion is a damn good place to start I tell ya... Im a perforemer, a classically trained singer... My inspiration was Freddie Mercury, the man could do no wrong, he was gifted, iconic and a legend... And however much I support Taylor/May in their current projects, of course I would have preferred Freddie to be up their with them... But its just not possible. But I still want to hear his wonderful music... and Taylor/May are as big a part of that music as anyone.
