In Glasgow September 2004 a group of music lovers came together with ideas & passion, with only one thing in their minds, which is to form a band & play the most exciting music possible, for themselves & the audience. Wave are a band with a unique vision and approach to music which is amazingly innovative and exciting to listen to. Each member of Wave has a strong background of musical knowledge from listening to such artists as; The Grateful Dead, Pink Floyd, Bob Dylan, Frederic Chopin, Frank Zappa, Brian Eno, U2, David Sylvian. With influences as diverse as these, the band has very much learned their craft. Wave are a very compelling band to be watch upon for their creative output and ability to perform & improvise which are some of the attributes that come together to bring a beautiful experience. http://www.wave-music.co.uk

  8. god this is so addictive http://artpad.art.com/gallery/?i906bm1cau5c
  9. it doesnt really matter what label things are released on but often i find that if i find one smaller label i like an artist on then i will like alot of other things out on that label- for example Rough Trade are home to many of my favourite artists, discovered largely through owning other albums by artists on that label. i agree thought that it can often be hard to find a bargain in hmv etc so mail order directly from these smaller labels is often better value. however, you shouldnt boycott larger labels, many bands just strike it lucky from the word go and get signed up by sony, etc, that doesnt mean they are sell outs simply due to the fact they are signed to a larger company. x

  13. that sounds a great set list, when are you choosing thr tunes over xmas as i feel i will have to pay exodus a visit if this is the calibre of tunes! x
  14. ohhh they are excellent! i picked up a demo cd a year and a half or so ago and couldnt wait for the album earlier this year. caught them at t in the park and they were excellent. new material was played then and recently too in edinburgh at their gig back in october. lovely melodies and greg gilberts voice is incredible- hitting all those notes spot on and beautifully live too. nice mixing of guitars and keys too and synths, love these guys to bits. if you can then get the album with the bonus dvd- its got some great live performances on it and videos. they also described how their new album is going to sound in a recent nme- michael jackson influenced- sounds interesting but even if its half as good as the live new tracks ive heard it will be awesome! HUGE fan here! x
  15. Does anyone know of any confirmed acts for any of the 2005 festivals? i know foo fighters are playing oxygen and possibly outkast at glastonbury, rumours too of brian wilson?but does anyone have any news on t in the park/ reading and leeds? x

well i managed to buy Where The Humans Eat (album) in Fopp here in glasgow for a tenner- money well spent! i would recommend tracks such as - Gotta Keep Movin, Hard Hand to Hold and Letter #1 from the album. its released on Virgin, EMI, 0724387537620 and available on amazon, happy listening, very worth it! x
  17. burns, you can really visualise everything he describes and also i have many fond memories of learning several poems in primary school, he is a local hero too x
  18. anyone heard much of this guy? I think he is amazing, i saw him supporting the 22-20s last month and was mightily impressed, he blew me away. had to buy the album the very next day and would recommend it to everyone 'Where the Humans Eat'. he has a great voice and some of the songs are incredible, would love to see him again! hes playin king tuts next year and he is only 19, full of potential x
  19. have you heard his cover of bruce springsteen's 'born to run' its great! get a ticket and come see him at king tuts, ive a feelin it'll be a good one. i havnt seen him solo live before but did see the moldy peaches a few years back. do you have a favourite green song? x
  20. any one out there a fan of adam green? i really like him, really quirky and a unique voice. he used to be in the moldy peaches who were rather insane too! his lyrics are quite amusing and often a bit tactless but nevertheless im a fan. he is playing king tuts next month. check out www.adamgreen.net for more

yeah i would say the music hall would prob be more fitting, they are well known now anyway. a pretty good band though nothing too new but hey some top tunes.
  23. rough trade - i absolutely adore this label- they always have something new and refreshing coming out. i would really recommend everyone to go out and buy ' stop me if you think you've heard this one before' , its a rough trade 25th anniversary cd with bands doing covers of other fellow rough trade artists songs. its totally got me in to a load of new bands who i would love to find out more about - mystic chords of memory, the hidden cameras, the veils and the tyde. so many top bands are on rough trade - the stokes, libertines, eastern lane, belle and sebastian, british sea power plus loads from the last two and a half decades. rough trade are consistently discovering and promoting new talent and thats why i love them and theres always someone new to listen to.they have been central to the exposure of countless bands over the last 25 years. what other labels to people feel have been pivitol in securing and promoting success for bands you like/ otherwise wouldnt have listened to?
  24. i think they are great. got a demo of 'tell her tonight' ages back and didnt hear anything more on them for a while but over the last few months they've just exploded - good advertising and word of mouth has ensured them the recognition they deserve. although clearly not totally original they are refreshing. the album is far better than i had expected, thought it might have more filler tracks than it does but was plesantly surprised to find its all top knotch! especially 'this fire' - track 7. as for 'the british strokes' i do disagree. they arent like the strokes in terms of music but are i suppose in the way they have grown in a similar way to the strokes - small gigs, word of mouth, nme support leading to where they are now. cant wait to see them in april. anyone else going to see them on tour?
