  1. Yep thanks to all. Especially Maria Hall who played a great set and to Estrella who stepped in for an impromputu gig. So, who fancies playing next month?!

  3. hi i was wondering if you were still looking for someone because this wee project sounds like a whole lotta fun. you can check out my tunes on www.clairehamilton.co.uk and let me know what you think on here or email me at claire_pink@hotmail.com or info@clairehamilton.co.uk if you don't have messenger. thanks.
  4. hey guys i'm up for this i have plenty of experience within bands. my solo stuff is on clairehamilton.co.uk but obvioulsy i can sing rockier than the songs on there. get back to me.
  5. you should definately visit the left bank. i did a residency there. it does live music every night, it's got a really nice atmosphere and it's a funky looking bar. it's off guthrie street and down some steps. lovely lovely place. don't miss it
  6. for wonderful city centre flat. very large. dining kitchen. big lounge. double bedroom. 250 a month. anyone interested? PM me.
  7. i was there, obvioulsy! i thought running late were ok...maybe they need to come across a little stronger, i duno, there was just something missing. i thoroughly enjoyed myself when playing with my band, we are now called quietude by the way. but luckily the guys are very patient and don't mind being referred to as claire hamilton band. the shakes were cool. am liking the harmonica. and the usuals. they make my night!
  8. oh my, haven't seen such energy and enthusiasm from three bands in a long time. the last band? fantastic, the sexy girl boy girl boy combo worked really well, like fleetwood mac after having visited cyberdog in camden, gone on a shopping spree and celebrated their genius with lots of strong cups of coffee. i honestly could not guess any influences from their fresh sound. band number two were passable, impressive use of the drum machine to make people sit up and listen for their first song but comedy antics like the solo of super mario bothers does not make up for the need of a few more hours in the studio. band one, a few more hours in the studio? yes. a drummer who can keep time? a singer who can stop shouting (you'll ruin those vocal chords if you conduct conversations like that) tsk tsk. but not bad for an opener. not bad at all. what did anyone else think?
  9. ...to share large central flat, 5 minutes walk from union street. large double bedroom, longue, big kitchen, all mod cons. 250 a month excluding bills. a student prefered. call 07742355543...
  10. hey thanks for all your comments. i'm very much looking forward to sunday. i think it's fairly worrying that a large percentage of people will only listen to a specific genre of music. specifically in the case of 13, 14 year olds who will only listen to emo/punk etc, because it's a very eiltist attitude to have. There is so much fantastic music out there. The sound engineer and I have become friends. But the friendship started badly because i walked into the room and said, "What the hell is this crap music, turn it off!" It turned out to be a very talented band. My personal taste is very different from his, but conversations with him have reinforced what i think about music. In my opinion, music is an artform, and you get; for example; pop art and visual art, just like you get pop music and indie music. I think open mindedness (in music) is the key its enjoyment! Do you agree milner? I was in a spoof punk outfit when i was 16 (Paralysis) and i loved every minute because it was so much fun. But I grew up on the musical influences of my parents and branched out from there. (to cut a long story short see my biography page) I was fortunate enough to catch Emma's solo stuff when i went to see Simon Gall band at Drummonds and I am thoroughy looking forward to hearing her perform again. Claire
  11. sorted all sorted now. cheers.
  12. does anyone have the contact telephone number of kirk burton? i'm not a stalker honest, need to get hold of him about a gig. cheers.
  13. I'm playing in glasgow next week so may as well go across to edinburgh and see what i can do there, does anyone know of any open mic nights on a thursday night, or at least a site where i could ask? cheers.
  14. in that case a quick an easy solution would be to ask to be out behind the scenes in the kitchen or something where no one would see you, but that would be giving up without a fight.
  15. difference what you said pretty much suggested you'd do anything as long as you were being paid sweetheart, just doing your job they way THEY want you to do it. what real difference does hair dye make to whether or not he can do his job properly? do you have dyed dair? if you do i bet your work hasn't complanied about it, because you're female.
  16. nope pumpkin_queen13 hey, if thats what your work want from you, then give it to them. whole point of work is to get paid and do your job the way that THEY want you to, they are the ones that put the pennies in your pocket. you dont have to look 'different' all the time. i completely disagree with that. pumpkin queen, if your work wanted you to do something completely, for example, immoral or degrading, would you do it simply because they pay you and you feel you have to do your job the way THEY want you to do it? that leaves no room for helpful suggestions from members of staff who probably know their scummy jobs better than management. This has nothing to do with looking different, plenty of people have red highlights. Graeme, are the girls allowed red highlights? I'm sure they are. It's sexist. You could kick up a huge fuss about this if you set your mind to it. incidentally, where do you work? Forget the digital camera idea, it's a bit daft i reckon. If you work somewhere where you have to look incredibly respectful, like a funeral parlour, then maybe you should consider having them dyed out. If not, stick to your guns. My work wouldn't allow pink hair, that's more understandable, but red highlights?! pah!
  17. cool cool. i can expet to see you at the gig then?
  18. has anyone heard of the favours? they're pretty good. coming up here in february www.thefavours.co.uk
