  6. I'm the bass player - I have a silly real name so I go by the name of Jonesy, sometimes Wee Jonesy. That's funny about the my sherona thing - when we first jammed that bit we realised it sounded a bit like my sherona and had that - is it too like it? - moment, but we thought - no it's okay. Obviously we were wrong!
  7. Not sure yet if it'll be at the Tunnels - we'll post here when we know more. BYOB is 'bring your own booze' - there's a lot that I don't remember about the Narcosis night too - maybe we didn't play after all!
  8. Hello! The new Macrocosmica album 'Farewell to Earth' is due out very soon (it's already available directly from us if you like - mail macrocosmica@hotmail.com for details). Below is a review: ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Organ Magazine review at http://www.organart.demon.co.uk/neworgan.htm ALBUM OF THE WEEK MACROCOSMICA Farewell To Earth (Trepanner Headmusic Company) We love the edge that Macrocosmica have, that tightrope walking they do somewhere near a galaxy just left field of planet stoner prog space rock. And how good is that ending to Five Wrongs? A new eight track CD from the fine fine Scottish cult band, weve been waiting for this one to drop. You see, you have to let Macrocosmica seep through the walls of your mind and your body, you have to let them in - once they do get inside, theyll rip you apart and run off with all your parts (and your hearts) and take them and you to all the best places. Ah look, we can write a million smartarse wordy words and dish up a cleaver chin stroking Wire type review or we can cut the crap and tell you what we really have here. Macrocosmica are one of the finest bands out there, think an X factor laced combination of MC5, 70s style jazzy Sabbath, Van Der Graaf Generator, Big Black, Swans, Monster Magnet, Sonic Youth, classic free flowing early Hawkwind, St Vitus, Mogwai, Peach/Suns Of The Tundra, Fugazi a fine fusion of space, prog and jazzy stoner rock that bites just right. Of course none of this would mean a thing if Macrocosmica didnt have that magical X factor and werent a band of the highest highest quality (anyone can take from their record collection and sound half good, this is far more than that). Theres a lot of musical pedigree here, amongst their number is Brendon OHare (ex-Teenage Fanclub, Mogwai and the brilliant Telstar Ponies), and Keith Beacom and Gordon Brady from heavy psyche outfit Bangtwister. Cerwyss OHare adds another more delicate dimension when her angelic voice takes her turn at the front. Heavy fuzzy jazzy progressive psychedelic rock, clever arrangements, warm melodies, galloping passages - ah yes, Macrocosmica are one of the very best bands out there, the furious thrilling real deal and this may well be their best album yet. Proper heavy prog rock. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The album launch gig will be on Saturday June 4th at the 13th Note, Glasgow but we'll be in Aberdeen in August. Cheers! Macrocosmica: www.macrocosmica.org.uk / macrocosmica@hotmail.com ************************* 'Farewell to Earth' (Trepanner Headmusic Company Records), 2005, cd format, 47 mins:27 secs. 9. Don't worry about the tray, Stuart - we're not really into all that trophy stuff - it's the rapturous applause and the shining adulation in the eyes of our fans that is the real prize for us. Good luck with the show!
