  1. I've been hearing whisperings of some sort of Radio roadshow (Possibly Radio 4) happening at Marischal college in the next couple of months featuring Moby amongst others. Anyone else heard anything concrete?
  2. Wait .....were people actually being serious about being sad McFly are cancelled??? WTF?
  3. Umm, one of the main reasons the AECC was actually built was to house Offshore Europe, and it still has to have at least double the space extra on top of what is there, every two years. I still dont buy the councils point that Offshore Europe will offset the cost by the amount it will bring into the local economy. Smells like bullshit to me. There are plenty of under utilised venues in Aberdeen , or ones where the managment are so far out of touch with what is actually happening it is actually damaging to their livelyhood (not mentioning any names)
  4. Well Ross, get scouring the CCTV tape mate. Hope you get them back....
  5. Yeah, Sony do some nice little discreet Stereo Mics, that look shit,, but actally reproduce a very nice result. Unfortunately they are about 80 -100, but I use several at work for conference recording, and they do their jobs very well. Why not try out something like this - http://www.giant-squid-audio-lab.com/ I know a few people in Aberdeen(shire) who use them to excellent results.
  6. You'll be needing some sort of engineer to operate it though......
  7. Well I certainly wouldn't be purchasing anything that said Alesis or Behringer on it.... Urei 1178's, Summit DCL 200's, Focusrite REd, DBX, KT DN504's, you get the idea. On second thoughts, I might even go for Quested tri- amped monitors....
  8. this whole thread makes me laugh very, very hard Eastlake Room Westlake or Possibly Genelec 7.1 Monitoring SSL XL9000K 72 channel with Total Recall 48 tracks of 2" Studer 48 tracks of some sort of DAW (probably Pro Stools as its industry standard ) 48 tracks of Otari Radar Apogee ADC's Some decent Valve Mic Pre's SOme Decent dynamics A couple of Bits of Focusrite Red (Screw the platinum range ) Lexicon 980L TC M5000 Mainframe Some Decent Mics A Model 290 97 key Bosendorfer A T3 line with plenty of Quality codecs for doing FSOL style live broadcasts Bostaph's Drumkit Other good quality Backline (Ampeg, fender, Marshall etc) Oh yeah, and for entertainmnt, Monopoly, Operation, Domino's and a Kite. It would need to be isolated so a residential area a'la Ridge farm would be in order. erm....probably plenty of other stuff Whaddaya say? 30 per hour for local bands?
  9. I'm pretty sure, if you pre-register it's free, otherwise you pay 10 on the door, or something like that.

  11. I got my invites for free entry again this year, but it looks like my work doesn;t want to pay for transport and accomodation so I wont be there
  12. Woo your chance to own an MTA 980. I used one for a couple of years, but I do prefer it's brother - the MTA 990. It's an inline desk and I prefer it's versatility over the split 980. Nice eq section - although it is only 4 way semi. It is a bit of a snip at $75K for the lot, but no Multitrack At least you get 24channels of Dolby SR though Oh, and Christie... http://www.manleylabs.com/containerpages/eqp1a99.html
  13. yep! That I do. Also need pennies for or was that nappies *checks his shopping list*
  14. Forgot to say 2 x 3metre Phono to jack 10 way looms are included...... All I/O is on phonos - which will not accept a mic level siganl - best to go through even a small mixer for it's pre-amps - you can get a Spirit notepad for about 50 now. The S/PDIF is also on a phono as per the standard. Also there is a "monitor" output on 3.5mm stereo jack which doesn't use the ASIO drivers which is hand when you have more than one audio app open. Cubase / Logic for instance will grab all the ASIO outputs, but in order t edit an audio part in Wavelab or something you normally would have to close cubase to "release" the drivers. The monitor out lets you do that without having to close anything up. Here's a great review of the card http://www.computermusic.co.uk/reviews/terra/terra.asp Oh and Christie - STFU
  15. I'll go as low as 140 if anyone may still be interested.......it's a quality card......
  16. Personally I would never use a feedback eliminator in a live band setup, but they have their uses in installed sound applications. A setup I regulary utilise just wouldnt be worth using without the Sabine.......
