I loved it, one of the few films where I've hyped myself up about it and then not been disappointed after seeing it. The only thing was the tendency to get a bit motion sick when they ran with the camera, but I was expecting that - just wasn't great when you had a hangover to boot! Excellent film

Banter at the stadium was great despite the rubbish standard of play. Hangover at the airport on Sunday was terrible, but made much better by meeting some of the Scotland team who were getting one of the other flights back to Edinburgh. When I asked them about the match they looked miserable as fuck, especially Paterson, he wisnae happy. Parks was surprisingly upbeat however despite the shocking aim of his kicks- I'm sorry, but does it really take a genius to say that your kicks should find touch rather than a gaggle of Wales players? Blarrrgh. Awesome meeting them though

I'd recommend it, I went last year and it was fantastic, the atmosphere was great and the pace of playing is so much faster than 15s. It's unreserved seats too so you can get right down at the front of the West stand. ...I used this to geek out and get John Inverdale's autograph... Only issue is if you go for the whole weekend and you're intending getting a train back you might miss the last couple of matches if you want to get a seat on one of the last Aberdeen trains.

Bummer! I've no worries about my smoke alarm, it's so damn sensitive it goes off every time something is cooked despite putting the fan full on. No smoke required. It has a mind of its own, I swear to god. Better to be over-sensitive than not though I guess, eh?

I'll be in Cardiff for next week's match, I'm actually looking more forward to seeing the side that beat England on Saturday than I am Scotland. Bloody disgrace of a second half that was.

No but in this case it means a chance for the 'Tree to try again and succeed which is all folk ever really wanted. Great news and I hope it's successful. And if the damn gigs that get put on actually get promoted I'll certainly go along

*Scurries to have a look* Bah, can't be bothered searching, prolly actually have to be at uni to access videos anyway. And ouch, by the way, not fun. I'm on the fence with NHS24. I think it's a great idea in that in theory it should have helped free up much GP appointments (no, I can't wait 3 weeks to see a doctor, I have a chest infection NOW, not in 3 weeks) by weeding out the total unneccesaries who have managed to be reassured about their cold/flu over the phone. Buuuut, obviously because stuff like meningitis and flu can be so similar up until things get critical there's bound to be things that slip through the net. It's a good service to have, and I've certainly benefited from it in the past, as is G-Docs although I've never entirely forgiven them for sending me home at 5am when I had flu like symptoms and a pounding headache (admitted for a week a couple of hours later with septicaemia) BUT it clearly isn't a proper substitute for face to face, full history and examination. I wouldn't dawdle about with websites though. The internet's a sodding curse in some respects, it's easy to put two and two together, make five and think you have cancer with the amount of damn sites there for self-diagnosis. NHS 24 website is particularly misleading. Smoo, feel better soon Dave.

According to their myspace they're doing a tour of all their "favourite small venues" the ones they "wished [they'd] played but never got round to". Either that or it hasn't been a very good year for them Reckon I might try and catch them at the Raigmore in Inverness.

It's true that living together can really make or break a friendship, but so far I think I've been lucky, and I've actually had more problems living with someone I didn't previously know. At least if you know the person you know what you can expect. Of course on the other hand they might have been driven completly nuts by living with me, but no one's said anything yet Definitely insist on meeting/interviewing people before making a decision. I advertised on citylets.co.uk and got driven nuts by west african oil workers who thought they could just e-mail me once to ask who to make the deposit cheque out to.

Bit surprised by that. Although have to say for me it'd have to be Tunnels anyway.

Most chinese and indian places are open at New Year I think. Eagle May's certainly trading, but they're busy as. Still well worth the wait though.

I thought it said in the news stories that the council offered help but the LT board rejected it? You can't really blame the council in that respect. Gah, regardless it's still sad.

Have to admit, the last few things I've been to see at the 'Tree haven't been as well attended as I would have expected - The Research gig for one. I have a feeling promotion may have a stake in it, I didn't even know the above gig was on if it weren't for word of mouth 2 days beforehand. I will be very sad to see it close its doors and I hope if it gets bought over that whoever takes it on does a decent job at it. (And where the hell will the FMAs go for 2008? )

As I shall be keeping my 21st cards for the forseeable future it will still be a most welcome addition to my collection I might be going to Australia for my elective for a couple months in 2009... reckon it'd be a long shot for Deadloss to tour Queensland around then?
