  1. I feel sick. What the fuck was that free kick for at the end? Hutton got absolutely twatted off the ball. Thought Scotland played well and didn't deserve that result against a bunch of timewasting, diving primadonnas. I'm never eating pizza again.
  2. That's a shame, I think Mayonnaise is my favourite Pumpkins song. Don't think I'd pay thirty quid to see them though.
  3. To be fair, we did beat Bayern Munich AND Real Madrid, which I think is on a par with just about anything.
  4. If Scotland win I'll give 100 to the Tartan Army charity, buy 10 tickets for the Spanish Christmas lottery and buy a present for the wife. Oh, and I might get really drunk and challenge a policeman to a duel.
  5. I remember being in Amsterdam chilling in a cafe when a big group of Copenhagen fans stormed in in full voice. They were playing Ajax that night. They kind of ruined the stoner vibe of the coffee shop, but they seemed like pretty good crack. I'd imagine they'll bring a decent crowd to Pittodrie, they seem like a strong support, it's not that far away and the game could be vital depending on tonight's results.
  6. The first three Monster Magnet albums - Spine of God, Superjudge and Dopes to Infinity - are classic stoner records. There was a great Welsh band called Acrimony, who played kind of slow, heavy, trippy mushroom influenced stoner rock. Their album was called Tumuli Shroomaroom (honestly) and they had an EP called Firedance (I think). They were awesome, but I think they split up after one album.
  7. That's my birthday entertainment sorted then. Well, if you want to win the cup you have to deal with the Huns/ tic sooner or later. And we did for them in the semis last time we won the cup. So lets just do it.
  8. When's the draw? Dunno who I'd fancy.. Not Rangers. And United are a bit of a bogey team in the cup, which leaves Hearts I guess. Richie Byrne- why, oh why? Every time I see that guy play he's a total clown. Other than that, i think it's quite pleasing being a Dons fan at the moment.
  9. And he's just been recalled to the Scotland squad. Apparently McGregor's injured.
  10. Redweb says tickets are 18. Also, Langers has just been recalled to the Scotland squad!
  11. Let's try some optimism. I'd fancy four points from the home games, a battling away draw in the first match and probably a defeat in Madrid. That's be enough to go through I reckon.
  12. I thought pot 1 and pot 3 were home games and pot 2 and 4 away. Perhaps I got confused.
  13. I didn't read the previous post before using the word 'tasty'
  14. Tasty trips to... Moscow and Copenhagen. Shame the madrid game is at home.
  15. Group B Panathinaikos Lokomotiv Moscow Atletico Madrid FC Copenhagen Aberdeen FC Interesting...

    UEFA Cup

You know Palop scored in the quarter final, last throw of the dice as Sevilla were about to go out of the tournament. Good header too. Cannae see Langfield doing that.
  17. Hmmm, just stumbled on this thread while basking in the online afterglow of Sunday's Hun bashing. I fear I may have brought the curse of deadenstereo to the mighty Real Betis. A few years ago they were in the Champions league and holders of the Copa del Rey. Then I move to Sevilla, adopt them as my team, and all of a sudden they're fighting relegation. Meanwhile, the city is practically on fire with all night partying as their arch-rivals Sevilla defend the UEFA cup, get to the Copa del Rey final and sit two points off the top of La Liga. Oops. Still, at least things have started to go right for the Dons since I left the country
  18. Fair enough, but when it does come to getting humped I'd rather it was by some quality opposition, not Shamrock Rovers or Red Star Grozny or some shit like that.
  19. I'm absolutely delighted. Been listening to the locals (in Seville) going crazy all week, 24 hour car horns after they won the UEFA cup, so was nice to be able to finally join the party! And to qualify by beating the Huns? Awesome. I have to say, I think Hearts got exactly what they 'deserved' this season. Their carping and gloating last year was intolerable, considering the nonsense their crook of an owner has been inflicting on Scottish football. I'll admit to feeling slightly sorry for George Burley, and for Pressley, Hartley and Gordon when all that business was going on, but the rest of them can all climb into 'mad' Vlad's nuclear submarine and get to fuck. Or Lithuania. Now I just hope the Dons get drawn against some Spanish opposition so I can go and check them out somewhere a little warmer than Pittodrie.
  20. Most missed band? Go on! Ill fly back from Spain for the awards...
  21. Cheers everyone. This is turning into quite an emotional thread Brian - I am actually looking forward to said pummelling! Do you think we might win most missed band at the next fudge awards??! Probably not eh..
  22. Send us a pm with address details etc and we'll see what we can do
  23. Well, the time has come. Sad to announce that after almost six years of practising, touring, recording, travelling in dangerous vans and partying deadenstereo have decided to call it a day. We'll be playing our final gig at bannermans in Edinburgh on Friday 25th August. We're also going to give away a bunch of 'career spanning' retrospective CDs (I'm sure if anyone from here wanted one that could be arranged). All that remains is to say a huge thank you on behalf of the whole band, members past and present, to everyone in Aberdeen for making us feel very welcome and for making that torrid drive seem so worthwhile (even in the van!). Personally, it always gave me great pleasure to play in my home town and to receive such a good response. Aberdeen is the best place to gig in Scotland. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Extra special thanks to Fudge, Dr Drakes, The Moorings, AUBL, and everyone who came along and said nice things about us. It's 1.30pm, I'm drunk... this is the end. We love you all.
