  1. Hi, one of my mates has pulled out of The Breeders curated All Tomorrow's Parties and I have one ticket for sale. This is for the SECOND ATP weekend at Butlins in Minehead and is from May 15th-17th. Post a reply and PM me if you are interested. Ticket is going at face value of 165 and includes catered accomodation in a 7 person chalet if yer happy to stay with us!
  2. Saw them in the new Stereo in Glasgow a wee while back and they blew me away (reckon some of the footage is included in the vid but may be wrong). Absolutley brilliant!
  3. Easily one of the worst things I've ever heard from a band that historically are excellent. Pure pish - was distraught when I heard it. As far as I'm concerened, it seems to me as though they've had their time and then lost it. Lyrics are horrendous but the actual music is worse. It's churned out I-know-because-we-are-Weezer-it-will-sell-anyway shite. It really concerns me that anyone would like it - even more so if they are longtime weezer fans. I agree with the sentiments on Maladroit. It is a great album, full of great songs. Obviously Blue and Pinkerton are the best, green is average, but Make Believe and this excuse for an album really irritate me. Maybe I'm just getting old but I'm finding that bands that I used to really worship are getting worse as time goes by. Pelican, Tool, Mogwai, Deftones, Aereogramme, NIN are in the same boat for me personally and now I can sadly add Weezer to the list.
  4. Simple question - easy answer.... Copy Haho Mind you, any band those Stonehaveners put there hand to are running them close i.e. PVH and GOPHONES in particular. That being said not been in the 'deen for a while to see any of the new up-and-coming-bands.
  5. I have a spare ticket going Please email on blairsea@hotmail.co.uk if you're interested!
  6. Saturday 22/09/2007 - Fudge Night @Moorings Bar with Clear Blue Skies, Crimson Tide & Zero the Fool Strong Like Ox have decided to call it a day and are playing their last gig on Saturday at the Moorings as part of Fudge Night 106. Now that we're all split between Elgin/Aberdeen/Glasgow and got jobs/college to worry about, we just don't have the time for the band anymore. We just want to say thanks to everyone that organised/promoted/attended Small Enclosed Area & Strong Like Ox gigs or played with us over the past 7 years. We've met many great (and some not so great ) people over the years and always been well treated and received in Aberdeen. Its fitting that our last Aberdeen gig is a fudge gig as Brian gave us our first gig in 2000 at Exodus so I guess we've come full circle. Hope to see you guys on Sat and keep supporting the Aberdeen scene!
  7. I had 10 on Kris Boyd first goalscorer, as the Sun Horoscopes said that luck comes from somone with the initial K Two of my group had 5 on 3-1. Off to Hampden for the Stadium experience, then flying off to Paris RossP on Blair's account.
  8. Martin phoned them but said that they didn't have a clue, so I sent him in person to go check it out.
  9. HELP! HELP! HELP! PLEASE! Aereogramme are supporting Biffy Clyro at Music Hall but they have a huge problem. Martin the keyboard player is unable to use his laptop as his audio interface is broken. I don't really know what he is talking about so I'll quote what I have written down... "An audio interface for a laptop....sometimes known as a firewire soundcard(?)...basically to run output from a laptop.." Does anyone have one that Martin can borrow for the gig tonight...or know of a shop in Aberdeen where he can buy one??? Please post back if you can help

  11. Just got into them and saw them at ATP and they were incredible. Cannot believe they recreate all the sounds live. New single Atlas is awesome!
  12. Ah man it feels like I've been punched in the face 3 times now.....first Glasgow gig....then ATP...now Indian Summer. Guess these things happen Can't wait for ATP the line-up is awesome!
  13. I saw Kling Klang and 65dos in Glasgow last night and they were both immense. Really enjoyed both sets. Enjoy!
  14. I agree with Maxi that the new album is pretty sh*te but I must say that the new songs they played lived were really good - particularly Bliss In Concrete and the most "metal" one that I forget the name of. Great that they played one of my fave songs from Australasia and finished with Red Ran Amber (never heard it on their FIOTWBTT tour with Cave-in when in living in Germany). They came back for the encore and played the mighty mammoth and, although it was the "major" version (I prefer the original), it made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. Truly awesome. The sound was superb for Pelican but was pretty ropey for These Arms Are Snakes. I got more in to them as their set went on but was I the only one thinking how incredible and amateurish it was for the guitarist to have to leave the stage for 10mins and change a string???? The bassist, singer and drummer could have jammed something decent at least.
