  1. yeah the legacy of those pesky TSG#1 continues! would be funny if I could turn it around 2nd leg mind!
  2. In my fourth season in the Premier League with Cambridge after scooting through the leagues in six seasons. First two seasons did really well finished 9th and 8th just missing out on europa league qualification. 3rd season not so good finished 15th but made FA Cup semi final. Current season half way through and nestling around 15th position, league cup semi final but lost the first leg at home to Liverbloodypool 3-2 so not confident of getting through, also got the scouse bastards away in the FA Cup 3rd round and they dicked me 2-0 and to add insult to injury they also beat me in the league a few games before. Board have lowered their expectations mind and expected to battle against relegation, should have enough to keep my head above water as doing well against the shit teams and losing to the good teams. Currently ground sharing with Spurs as my ground is getting redeveloped to 30,ooo. Going through a transitional period, got a lot of youngsters in the squad and if they come good and i can stay up reckon I can at least be challenging for a Europa League spot.
  3. A very pleasing afternoon's entertainment at the home of toilet football The Abbey Stadium yesterday after in freezing conditions. Gateshead were swept aside with total ease, only criticism is we should have double our three goal tally but hey ho not complaining, unbeaten in five with four wins. Same opposition next week in the FA Trophy, wonder how many of the hardy 27 away fans who showed up will make it down next week???
  4. ooh eck squeaky bum time at Cambridge as we hurtle into the BSP relegation zone without kicking a ball yesterday. Massive game away at Ebbsfleet Tuesday who are one place above us in the table. Think I shall go to that one as not too far and off work Tuesday. I'm enjoying watching Chelsea fail because Abramovich and the way he treats managers is an absolute joke. Be even funnier if they get beaten in the club world championship by some obscure team no-one has ever heard of. Should be a tasty encouter in the cup today between AFC Wimbledon and MK Franchise Dons. Hope the former wins but think the latter will sneak through. Another bizarre sacking in the lower leagues with Mickey Mellon getting the boot by Fleetwood who are doing pretty well in League 2 after getting promotion last season. As is sometimes the case in such a situation, apparently he went for the Burnley job when it was vacant and the chairman has been looking for an excuse to give him the sack since! And well done to Arbroath for snatching a draw at Celtic!!!!
  5. go back to knockout competitions no seedings and less games, fuck the tv companies who seem to dictate these competitions for the purpose of armchair viewers!!!
  6. Saw Skyfall at the cinema last week and loved it from start from finish. Much much better than Quantum of Solace. On DVD I watched a great film called 13. Ray Winstone, Jason Statham, 50 Cent, Mickey Rourke and Sam Riley so pretty neat cast apart from 50 cent who cannot act for toffee.
  7. Christ on a bike the ref at the Abbey was a plonker yesterday. I mean a real plonker, think of the worst plonker ref you have seen and times it by a thousand. We was robbed. He stopped play when our striker was clean on goal and called everyone back for a free kick which we predictably wasted. Then when his assistant flagged for a clear handball penalty, he overrode him. Still happy Norwich did Man Utd and look forward to taking the piss out of our token Ipswich fan at work tomorrow
  8. we need some big bastard on fm13! not playing nearly enough, i miss the days of unemployment when I could spend the whole day playing fm without a care in the world! Still got a good footing in the championship now with Cambridge, confident I can escape the drop though a long way to go. Tempted to load it up now but work beckons in the morning!
  9. My favourite thing about FM13 is my ability to beat arch rivals Peterborough United, three victories in three games, just trounced them 4-0 at their place. They don't like that up them! Although ground sharing with them at the moment whilst me own pad is getting redeveloped so technically was a home game!
  10. I been rising through the leagues with Cambridge, in the Championship after four season... 2 in the conference then successive promotions. I had a tough start to life in the championship mind losing my first six games but improved slightly unbeaten in four including an away win at aston villa, still bottom of the league after 10 games mind. I like the new ME, in fact love the game in general so far apart from my teams inability to win penalty shoot outs, have won one out of five and that was against bottom of the conference Alfreton Town in the FA Cup!
  11. It's been pretty grim this season but just occasionally like yesterday we put in a good shift, hope we can build on it, last time we had a good win we didn't win for six games. The Newport area is rugby mad, there was only 1,700 (87 from Cambridge!) at the match and they're top of the league. They have money behind them, their chairman won 45 million quid or so but wisely he is not spunking it all on the team!
  12. bloody hell Cambridge won and won well against Macclesfield yesterday, faith slightly restored!
  13. I'm still recovering from Tuesday's 6-2 tanking by Newport County which I attended, Macclesfield at home today, I see nothing but another tanking. Blue Square North or South here we come and probably liquidation... grim times.

  15. Points for me too with the late Mr Dunn! They don't like it up em!
  16. Exactly when I was growing up Liverpool just won and won and won and Man Utd were utter pants apart from the odd FA Cup win. Though its hard to see Liverpool getting back to what they were in the current environment unless someone invests as ridiculously heavy as the Man City owners did.
  17. Going on a little adventure away to Newport County today, they're top of the league, we're absolute pants at the moment, be amazed if there is anything but a convincing home win in freezing conditions. Still always take the opportunity to go abroad when I can!
  18. well done to Cambridge City for getting a plucky draw against Wimbledon Dons Franchise FC, I look on with jealousy, looking forward to United not losing today as we're out the FA Cup already.... going to top of the table Newport County on Tuesday night... that's hardcore footy!!!
  19. bought a copy of the new Bob Dylan album and 'Bob Mould' by 'Bob Mould'
  20. Promotion with 2 games to spare second season, shame FM isn't real!
  21. fucking hell I am furious at what I witnessed this afternoon... I mean really furious. I booed the team and it was fully justified. Cambridge were outplayed by Hyde a team bottom of the league, with one goal and one point on their travels... an easy three points surely? Oh no we were beyond shit, I mean really shit. I was for once lost for words at how shit my beloved Cambridge United were today. It's actually made me depressed. In our 100th year on this planet we face a relegation battle. Still going to our next match away at league leaders Newport a week on Tuesday!!!!
  22. just fell short first season, title went to last day of the season but Luton won so my draw against Macclesfield meant nothing, then knocked out in play offs on fucking penalties by that football giant Gateshead... oh well the joy of rebuilding for season 2 awaits!!!
  23. Having an exciting first season, 8 games to go in the BSP and a four teams going for that coveted automatic promotion slot with 2 points between them, really busy over the next couple of days so looking forward to finishing the season with a vodka and lemonade on Sat night. Had a look at the challenges and they are pretty neat as well. Really enjoying the game so far... deffo less late goals and also I am not missing shit loads of penalties like I did on FM12!
  24. yeah I'm loving not doing too bad with Cambridge, in the play offs after 17 games. Had a look at the challenges and they look pretty cool as well!
