  1. keep raging thats what this place is for! he did look extremely clueless and bemused on his match of the day interview!
  2. Pardew must be in serious trouble now... losing at home to Reading?? No excuses for that, he must be fearing for his job now...
  3. time to play some FM later, all set for the new season signings made and transfer budget spent, first game against Arsenal in the community shield...
  4. Finally some silverware in the Franklin trophy cabinet, a nice little domestic cup double. Made the quarters of the champions league but beaten by Chelsea. Oh well back to slumming it in the europa league next season as my league form suffered with all my cup shenanigans. Paid 16 million for an unproven 19 year old striker! He does have five star potential though, could be a gamble or a shrewd bit of business!
  5. After last Tuesday home tanking to that football giant Nuneaton Boro, I look forward to Cambridge not losing this afternoon at that other football giant Hyde since the game has been called off. Sacking Atkins? Ridiculous decision but thats what football is like these days, sure he will pick up another job soon.
  6. been sorting out cd's and keep finding ones with a one up price sticker on them!!!! end of an era
  7. Holy Shit, sad when that happens to a player with talent, still young enough to carve out a professional career I suppose
  8. Yes sad but not surprising news, I have many fond memories of One Up from my time in Aberdeen.
  9. blimey forgotten all about Michael Johnson, I think City have a number of forgotten players who enjoy the same kind of lifestyle as Johnson!
  10. Looks like Gordon Strachan is going to be the new Scotland boss. Thoughts???
  11. I do like Spotify for new stuff or if I can't be arsed getting up and putting a CD on the stereo. I mainly listen to music in those ways, I have a turntable now and brought some records back down from Aberdeen recently and I even still listen to tapes mainly old radio shows admittedly! I still buy CD's from Amazon and also download stuff.
  12. The comments of Green made me chuckle, what a deluded fool, I see the SPL is doing quite fine without the huns, I don't think they are in any position to make idle threats. As has been stated where exactly do they plan on going????

the quality is just not there with the BDO compared with the PDC that is evident but I always enjoy the lakeside nonetheless. Really enjoyed seeing wolfie beaten by that young lad whose name sounds like a famous dead guitarist! And it looks good on my new 42" TV I bought today!
  14. Whilst I admire the talents of Mr Messi, I wonder if he could dazzle his skills on a cold wet Tuesday night at Tamworth...
  15. I keep seeing people and thinking fuck wish I had included them! Did my list bleary eyed before work at 6 AM but hey gonna stick with what I picked! Hopefully improve this season and get in the champions league!
  16. Bloody typical off work for a week and Cambridge have no game and I missed Saturdays 4-1 trouncing of Stockport as had a flat tyre on the motor when I finished work!
  17. still waiting on our first proper death!!!!
  18. Signed some more kids, only snag is and I didn't read the small print my new whizzkid 11 million quid 17 year old Argentinian right midfielder is not coming till the end of the season! Still started the new season off with a magnificent 6-0 pasting of Arsenal! Followed this up with a sneaky win against Roma in the champs league play off was close in the end was 2-0 up on agg with an away goal with 10 mins to go then bugger me they scored twice in 2 mins and it was squeaky bottom time but we got through and handed a tough group featuring Barcelona, Schalke and Feyenoord! Went to the Nou Camp, 2-0 down at half time, pulled it back to 2-2 before losing 4-2, no shame in that, not even sure if any of my squad have actually played champs league football before! Meanwhile in the league predictably lost 2-0 away at Man Poo before stuffing West Brom - who are pretty good on this game - 6-2 at home.
  19. Bloody Chelsea are doing my nut in, beat me twice in the league (5-0 and 1-0) then knocked me out the FA Cup and to add insult injury dicked me in the final of the Euro League, not even managed to muster one goal against the London bastards! Still secured Champions League football for a second season with an unlikely away draw at Spurs 3-1 down getting absolutely outclassed, ten mins to go and I got 2 penalties to get the point I needed so it means I can go into the last game of the season at home to champions Man U with no pressure!

  21. Amazing how football can turn around quickly, a month ago Cambridge were languishing in the relegation zone, now out of nowhere we are on an 8 match unbeaten run and 4 points off the play offs albeit having played a couple of games more. Even more pleasing was we beat struggling Braintree by playing ugly on New Years Day. Whilst I don't really expect us to get in the play offs come the end of the season its nice to be on a good run at last. Dont expect much business in the transfer window mind. Also we have two strikers in double figures, blimey thats not happened for years!!!
  22. Established my Cambridge United team in the Premier League, finally made it into Europe even finished 4th but was knocked out the Champions League at the play off stage by those pesky French buggers Marseille on away goals so slumming it in the Europa League (probably a good thing as my young side isnt ready for Champions League footy just yet!). Got through the group stage with ease dropping just one point, then played some little team called Rangers in the 1st Knockout round who were disposed of with ease 9-1 on aggregate before closely squeezing out Athletico Madrid in 2nd Knockout Round. Sporting Lisbon await in the quarters. Somehow still in the FA Cup, after getting some piss easy ties for a change (Salisbury, Chelmsford and Plymouth) I was drawn away at Man Utd, 2-0 down and getting outclassed fuck knows how I managed to get the two goals I needed to take the tie to a replay. Chelsea await in the semi should I manage to progress. 8 games to go in the league and in 5th, the top three are miles ahead so its a tight battle for 4th spot but I have 2 games in hand due to my cup runs. Bloody loving this game!!!
  23. I know Berg had been pretty rubbish since his appointment but 10 games for crying out loud! And the sacking of Dyche even stranger and they've employed Alex McLeish to replace him, you couldn't script that! Meanwhile Cambridge picking up a bit of momentum at the mo, a good away win at struggling Braintree on Boxing Day has sneaked us into the top ten and we're second in the form table at the moment. Whether we can sustain this and push for the play offs remains to be seen mind.
  24. finally made Europe! Even got into the Champions League only to be thwarted on away goals by those pesky froggies Marseille in the play offs so 'slumming' it in the Europa League which is probably a good thing as my young squad has very European experience. Won both games in the group stage including an impressive away win at Lille.
