  1. Hi Me and a couple guys have gotten together and written some really brutal tunes, only problem is we don't have a drummer... so those middle instrumental beatdown sections are a bit tricky. If you are able to scream (the more incoherently the better) that'd be a bonus. anyone interested?
  2. About to do some basic (1 acoustic guitar and 1 vocal) recording , and wondering should I fork out for studio monitors or I have a pair of very good tannoy speakers that I use for my music system, should I save myself some cash and just those for monitoring if they are suitable. Anyone tell me if standard speakers are ever suitable for monitoring? I'm only assuming because the simplicity of the recordings I'm intending on making the frequencies wont be too wild, that they'd be ok to use.
  3. tried all different combinations of guitar, lead, I've even used the same guitar and lead that I used when the head died, but with a different head and through the same cab to make sure that it wasn't the cab. Am I in a world of butthurt?
  4. Hello I need some help with a valve head that I bought 2nd hand recently (laney vh100R) All was going well with my new acquisition, until the other night when after warming up the gear, I fired my guitar in got about 10 minutes play, then "crackle"....no sound anymore. All the tubes are still lighting up and all the LED's at the front are on. Anyone know whats up with it? I suspect its one of the valves, but if that's the case why are they all still glowing? I have never owned or really even played a valve amp before this, so don't really have a clue, if it is in fact a valve then that's no bother, ive got my debit card ready to get some new ones. Can someone please point me in the right direction on this one, as google has been as useful to me as a fish with tits.
  5. hello, yip that soon, only just noticed that myself
  6. Having sat on my arse for the past 7 years musically, im feeling strong urges to do something again, ideally looking to do something in the vein of late 80's/early 90's punk. I have a practice space with all necessary gear (just waiting on a drumkit arriving). I can sing and play guitar, don't really mind if I play guitar but would be looking for a bassist, drummer, guitarist, possibly second guitarist depending wether I decide to play guitar or not. possibly even some brass So if you like a beer, and fast, fairly rubbish music get in touch.
  7. is this maple or rosewood board?
