  1. Word has it that McCoist's gonna be involved with the Rangers job in some capacity, with possibly one or more other ex-huns thrown in for good measure. For all Le Guen's faults (i.e. Sebo), everyone seems to have forgotten that he's done well in Europe with Rangers, albeit against mediocre opposition. Like McLeish before him, he's gotten too much stick from certain sections of the hun 'faithful'. Sure, the league's fucked this season, but it's still all to play for in terms of the Champions League place, Scottish Cup and UEFA Cup.
  2. If you're looking to kickstart a proper disco in Alford, might I suggest you try Speckled Dove. It's a bit like Speckled Hen but more....intense, shall we say

    Space

Agreed. With any luck, Space have been jettisoned to the outer reaches of the solar system where they can't trouble us with their kooky bed-wetting indie toss ever again.
  4. Is this some kind of euphemism for scat-eating? And if so, why haven't I heard of it before?
  5. You know, I find that eating butter on its own can be quite barf-tastic, but spread on toast it imparts me great pleasure. Similarly, melt a bit of dark chocolate into a croissant and then tell me it doesn't taste good.
  6. Don't diss Dark Chocolate. She gave me the best lapdance of my life one nite in Private Eyes.

    Dons sign Brewster

Supposedly Calderwood was hoping to sign a younger striker as cover, but under the new age discrimination legislation, he was obliged to make Brewster an offer when he came on the market. I imagine Aberdeen's newest/oldest acquisition will be spectating on Saturday. You'll most likely find him sitting in the Main Stand... in the OAP section, naturally.
  8. What about Vice-Versas? A crunchy white chocolate shell that was dark on the inside and, well, vice-versa. Also, McCain Pizza Rollers; tiny dough balls filled with pizza topping. They tasted fine but were withdrawn because they got so hot in the centre, people kept severely burning themselves.

    2006/2007 season thread

First half brilliant. Second half utter pish, probably the worst the Dons have played all season. By all accounts, it followed the same course as Falkirk's visit to Pittodrie earlier this season; first half was a walkover, second a complete disappointment.
  10. Well, not specifically. I just wanna sample a decent Christmas menu at some point this month.
  11. Anybody care to recommend a local pub/restaurant that serves a decent Christmas lunch? I've never gone out for a Christmas lunch before, but thought I'd give it a shot this year as an alternative to a Christmas nite out.
  12. Road Trip. Took me a good few viewings to get the hang of that one.
  13. I've only seen two gigs this year, so I guess they'll both have to get my vote. 1. Eddison: Album launch in-store @ One-Up. 2. Hot Mangu & Black Atom: Fat Hippy Compilation II launch @ Tunnels.

    Homophobia

Given that every other clique, cadre and minority group seems to have its own message board on here, perhaps it's time Aberdeen-Music started its own (rainbow-coloured) Gay & Lesbian forum.
  15. It was either me or someone who looked uncannily like me. If anyone's interested, my 15 minutes of fame will continue this evening when a brief interview and Trash Whore Diaries feature is broadcast on North Tonight (ITV, 6pm.) It'll basically just be me speaking a little bit about the Scottish prison system (nothing you haven't heard before) and probably some moody close-ups of me typing away on my laptop. And before anyone says it, yes, I am quite the media whore these days.
  16. Do you wanna fone Claims Direct on my behalf? I'll give you 1% of anything I make. (I would offer more, but Claims Direct's cut is 98%.) No, News Of The World contacted me. I was happy enough for them to publish extracts from it; the material was already in the public domain anyway.
  17. Further to yesterday's thread about the Press & Journal featuring my blog, some of you may be interested to learn that The Trash Whore Diaries are published in News Of The World today (pages 24-25.) And in case you're wondering, no, I didn't sell them my story. I have got some scruples; I just choose to use them sparingly.
  18. Although I honestly believe that my two cents on penal reform would be more erudite and practicable than anything spouted by MPs, prison officers et al, I've no desire to become the Mary Whitehouse of the prison system. I'll leave that to the Jeffrey Archers and Lord Watsons of this world.
  19. Those of you read my weblog The Trash Whore Diaries from time to time, may be amused - or possibly bemused - to see that it's been featured in today's Press & Journal. (p27) The story can also be found on the P&J website here (The weblog extracts aren't shown on their website; they're only published in the printed edition of the paper.) They even published a few extracts from it; must be the first time the phrase 'rocking horse diarrhoea' has ever made into the Press & Journal.
  20. That depends on whether the 'small package' makes it past the sniffer dogs at US Customs.

    Neighbours!

I can't decide whether I'd rather have Susan as my mother or my lover. She's such a maternal figure to me, yet she's also undeniably sexy. I think I'm going to have my cake and eat her; Susan can be my mother and my lover. Now all I need to do is break the news to her.

    Neighbours!

But to be fair to the blind girl, she doesn't know that she's copying their style.

    Neighbours!

I'm not sure whether to be comforted or disturbed by the fact that this thread is still going, one year on from when I was last logged on here.
  24. A'right Mel. Good to see you again, in a manner of speaking. I've been hearing all sorts of scurrilous rumours about your conduct while I was away. Keep up the bad behaviour
  25. Cheers peeps, it's good to be back. Does anyone fancy condensing the last 13 months worth of debate on here into a single sentence? I don't have the willpower to read through all the archives.
