  1. Ah, now that was jolly good fun! Black breath...
  2. That's right folks! We're on the 2nd stage on the first day of this three day bash down in sunny Englandshire. See http://www.officialdamned.com/ for details!!!
  3. My Minds Weapon are a sh*t emo wannabe.... ummm..... errr.... Ah well, beaten to the punch there by Ross, eh?? Seriously though dudes, well done. Impressive stuff!
  4. Three sides to every story, folks. Whether you like the Dangerfields, Andy and his drumming style, or not, do you really expect he would agree to undertake a tour like this unprepared and unable to properly play the tracks? I've known Andy a lot of years, and I can't believe that would ever happen. I also know that he's one of the most hardworking and genuine guys we've ever played alongside! He's been around long enough to know how things are, and I've seen him take a paltry sum of money for doing a gig but still be happy with it. Likewise, I've seen him have to dig very very deep in his own pockets to cover gigs that he's promoted himself when the attendance figures didn't cover the finances. Lastly, I also know that when it comes to his bands, he's laid back and flexible, as long as they aren't being taken for a ride. On Baz from BlahBlahBlah tours, in my own dealings with him he's always struck me as a nice guy. However, the tour booking business is a very hard one to be in, and often things turn out much different from what both parties expected or wanted. All I'll say is that I have no beef with Baz, and that anything else I know about him and his dealings with other bands is not something I should be spreading around the Internet. I have no idea of how the Queers or Joe Queer in particular are, so I can make no comment there. All I will say is that having had dealings with individuals who are big names in bands known worldwide, is that often the reality of how that person is can be quite different to their legend in music history.
  5. Thank fuck I went to watch Slayer. Rumour backstage had been that it would be Motley Poo, but I can't stand them neither. Hooray for Anthrax, best band of the weekend, and the Dwarves for being themselves and playing until they were faded out. Boo for Billy Idol and Motorhead not being on the main stage, and for Biffy Clyro for being wank.
  6. As good as the gig was, I noticed (as did others) that most of the crowd that came along to support the drive to build a huge extreme sports centre down the beach were 14-20ish Karloff and Black Atom fans. Where were all the skaters and other extreme sports fanatics then?? If I were the Transition folks behind the 2.6M project, I'd be wondering whether my efforts were justified, given the apparent lack of support from the very people the centre is meant to cater for. Funny how nearly everyone I speak to about the plans for the centre say "Hell yeah, just what Aberdeen's needed for years now", yet they couldn't pay a measly few quid to support it!! On a positive note, a big, big, big thankyou to anyone who came along to see any of the acts at the Lemon Tree. You all had a great time and drove all the bands to put on a great performance each! Ruinous were particularly impressive for such a young bunch of dudes only on their first gig...!! Muchos gracias to all the Karloff Kult who went mental down the front, got their covering of blood, bought CDs and t-shirts, and continue to blind us with their support and appreciation. You're the best bunch of people, and we hope you like the new tunes we have on the way to you later on in the year!
  7. Just wondered, there seemed to be a few people taking shots.
  8. This is a stripped to the bone gig.... No support bands, no frills, no messing. Just maximum musical overload from DJs Psydoll and Screaming Zombie Hell, then a badass set from your favourite monsters around 10pm. Be there, or beeeee squaaaaare!
  9. Wirelessly posted (Nokia7210/1.0 (4.74) Profile/MIDP-1.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.0)
  10. Au contrare, mes amis.... A ticket has surfaced that I can lay my grubby mitts on! Let me speak to Shaz today to see if she has one or not, then I'll be in touch if we're going. But you might not like my musical choices in the car!
  11. Funniest. Line. Ever. Hey dude, are you going down to the Weege next Sunday to see Isis? Shaz ExDrakes is hassling me about heading down, but I don't have a ticket. You think it would sell out? Give me a shout, if I decide to go then you're welcome to come down in me agony wagon with me an Shaz.
  12. I'm sure Hog will put on a white cap, trackies and trainers for you, and of course do the accent to make you feel better.
  13. Will we also see your cheery face crashing your parents car again...?
  14. Suck balls. Big hairy camel balls. The support bands bored me to tears, but the Shackshakers were one of thee best bands I've ever seen at the Lemon Tree. Andy Shearer deserves a big backslap and pint for getting them up here, they were fuckin amazing. Their frontman was a living lesson in how to head up a r'n'r band... Amazing! You can listen to their newest CD clips on Amazon here, but seeing them live they were so much more intense. Big double bass drum sound and drumming, great stand-up bass, and their singer with his harmonica and old Shure bullet harmonica mike for ye olde distorted vox was absolute class. He even got his foot stuck in the lighting rig at one point, while dangling from it playing a harmonica solo!!
  15. "Coming soon to Moshulu : ABBA with support from Black Atom"
  16. If Del has his finger on the pulse of Aberdeen music all the way from N.I., then he has one helluva long arm.
  17. ClearChannel is Murdoch and his Sky clowns onslaught into the music entertainments industry. This can only be a bad thing, corporations do not care about musical diversity, they care about selling product and maximising profit.
