  1. I know a bloke in Dublin who's made an absolute fortune from pretending to be into 'legal highs' and selling absolute rubbish to people.
  2. I'm apparently 103rd out of over 2 million for November, which is nice! My Cech/Terry/Cole threesome seems to be absolutely rock solid, one of Rooney and Defoe usually murders the opposition and numerous bit players seem to be constantly pulling in points. The only problem is a ridiculously weak subs bench (still miles behind Dan G, though)
  3. Ah, he always was a master of self promotion
  4. But this is the thing - he has the experience that most of the other candidates don't have. Levein, Calderwood, Jefferies et al have never really managed at the highest level - in fact, apart from McLeish and Smith, do any of the other candidates apart from Calderwood have much/any in the way of experience of their teams playing foreign teams? Everyone is talking up Walter Smith - but he's 61! Even Fergie is 67 and no-one's saying he's too old to manage Man Utd. Trapattoni is 70! Fair play - Broon is dull, but when you haven't qualified for anything in 10 years, surely it's worth considering someone boring that might just get you there?
  5. Scotland needs someone experienced at the highest level who knows when to play it safe and when they can go for it - the kind of manager who grinds out ugly 1-0 wins away and makes sure to beat the diddy teams at home. I give you a proposal - bring back Craig Brown. He's got the experience at the highest level, he's an integral part of the 'Largs Mafia' and will keep the SFA happy in that way - and he's capable of getting Scotland in a position to qualify. Let's not forget that he took Scotland into Euro 96, France 98 and very nearly into Euro 2000! Jim Jefferies, Craig Levein or any of the other 'managed their way round the SPL' managers would be a disaster - Calderwood would be the exception, but only because he actually spent time on the continent and actually has an idea about playing difficult away games. And no matter what you think of him, he is actually capable of getting reuslts with rubbish teams. Either that, or get in someone with real passion like McCoist or Hughes - Levein would be boring as tears as a manager!

  8. Is there anything within that isn't actually true?
  9. They still had the ability to back out as long as it didn't pass into law - which, in theory, the UK can still pull out before December 1st. In all reality, the UK can pull out any time they like - the problem is that now, it becomes a question of EU membership or not, whereas before, it was simply a question of yay or nay to Lisbon. If Lisbon does pass into law, then it would seem that the EU are in a much stronger bargaining position with the UK - whereas before, the UK could easily have blackmailed the EU into giving them virtually everything they wanted due to the Nice limit of 27 countries. Beats me, I wouldn't be surprised if it ended up costing them an outright victory in the next election. Middle England is undoubtably enraged by their about-turn and UKIP will benefit. I wouldn't be surprised to see massive gains from fringe parties at the next election now - it's clearly obvious that neither Labour nor the Conservatives are willing to hold a referendum on EU membership. As for Poland - Kaczynski proved he has no bottle whatsoever by signing the treaty. If he had stuck to his guns and refused to sign as was his right to do so - then he might've just won some respect from a nation that pretty much hates him.
  10. Bloody good chance of it at the moment, Cameron's going to attempt to get out of it today, but he's just handed Brown a massive advantage by completely changing his tune. I wonder what would happen now if Brown stepped up and promised a referendum, maybe even passing it into law before the election just to completely screw up the Tories? Whether or not Broon has the backbone to pull off such a stunt is beyond me - but it would certainly liven up the election campaign!
  11. Sadly so. When you look at what can be done, it's even sadder - and contary to popular belief, the Stary Browar shopping centre here was mostly pulled down and rebuilt to the same architectural style as the brewery - it's (mostly) not the original building. In most cases, it seems to be about spending fuck all. We've got a plague of souless shopping centres here too - one example that's just opened is the quintessential 'done on the cheap' type place that's already looking horrible six months after opening. What makes these places even worse is that they become Saturday afternoon entertainment for families - who the hell takes a 3 year old to a shopping centre for entertainment?! While I'm at it, there's another example of a fantastic conversion - Manufaktura in Lodz. Have a look at this - would you honestly believe that this is a shopping centre/entertainment complex? Look beyond the 1st page, you'll be amazed. manufaktura - Grafika Google Even The Academy in Aberdeen showed what can be done with a bit of imagination.
  12. From the sounds of things, it's just another soulless wreck of a place that'll be torn down in 40 years for something else. If you're going to open shopping centres - then it should be done like this - Stary Browar - gdzie ?ycie spotyka si? ze sztuk? It's built in an old brewery and actually is quite an upmarket place, yet is smack bang in the centre of the city here. They've forever got art exhibitions on and is even home to a hotel and bar that's clearly 20 years ahead of most of the world. They're forever holding exhibitions and shows inside - one weird thing was a Rolls Royce covered in flowers. This is how it should be done - instead of just being another bam magnet.
  13. God, I fucking hate these types. Yes, because a stained, battered sofa is a sign of 'success'. YouTube - Are You An "MLM" Supporter Or A Serious "Entrepreneur" Help me find a phone number for him, I feel the need for a windup coming on...
  14. Wonder if the taxman wanted the VAT that wasn't paid? I found this - Red festival ...full of people laying into them too. And funnily enough, their landline seems to have been cut off too... The same chump was also involved with this - Raw Nerve Promotions • View topic - barfly
  15. I can believe about the behaviour part - but if you look at old videos from when the BDO was king, the crowds seem quite lively there too - I found one video where the crowd were laying into someone (Bristow? Can't remeber) - just like in the PDC. The thing with money is that the PDC does keep on raising how much is on offer - looking at the PDC order of merit, you can arguably say that the top 50 are making a living from the sport. The BDO just isn't offering the same - even the gulf in money between the two World Championships is starting to become really telling.
  16. And thus the BDO will continue to rot while the PDC flourishes. There's already rumours flying that the PDC will simply create their own County/Superleague structure - which wouldn't surprise me, given the way that Olly Croft runs things, he's managed to piss off quite a lot of the Counties as it is. The sad thing is that darts would actually benefit by leaving the amateur side of things to the BDO and having the PDC run the professional side of things - look at the gulf in prize money between the two World Championships! Yet the PDC probably couldn't run an effective amateur setup - and this should be left to those running it at the moment. For the BDO lovers - maybe you should ask just how much money paid to the BDO is actually reinvested in the County structure? Not very much, from what I read... How much more defections can the BDO handle anyway? If O Shea and Hankey defect - then really, apart from Adams, is anyone else actually well known? Even if the BDO is more refined - the presentation is rubbish, and if it wasn't for the BBC deal, would they really be able to say 'no' to the PDC? Hearn's not stupid - and it wouldn't surprise me if the BDO ended up nothing.
  17. That's not really pictures from what was Moshulu, surely? Just shows what's possible if you throw enough money at something, I guess.
  18. Because Poczta Polska is shockingly bad and you wouldn't want to entrust anything to them, why else?
  19. The Bay is the one near the 'amusements', right? If so, agreed - they're absolutely incredible. Hass is bloody good too, even back towhen they were in Banchory. As for the Ashvale? It's a pitiful excuse for a chipper, and their franchises dotted round the place are absolutely diabolical.

Yes, but can Farve can go the distance, which seems unlikely given his past few seasons. He faded badly towards the end of his last season with the Packers, faded away last year and I really don't believe he'll be able to keep it up this season. If I was Minnesota, I'd be looking at putting Favre on to start some of the later games, but take him off after the first drive. It'll keep the streak going, but his body just won't hold up playing full games between now and the the playoffs. For that reason, they'd be wise to get someone else to stand in for most of the latter season games once the hard work is done - and a healthy and fit Farve would be ready for the playoffs. It's a risky strategy, but it seems sensible.
  22. If anything, they've shown that they're actually handling it well - the Euro hasn't suffered at all during the crisis, and they've shown restraint in letting new members into the 'club' - I thought they would try and accelerate the entry of the places like Estonia and Lithuania, but clearly not. They've also managed to keep places like Ireland in the Euro when it looked like they might end up having to leave - so as far as I can tell, so far, so good.
