  1. Hey, does anyone else out there just jam with their friends but not play as a band? I've started to do this recently and it's fun to the max! Just a couple of people and guitars and we made some insane bluesy riffs and stuff, like two weeks ago I played my guitar for about half an hour a week - now I can't put the damn thing down! It gives you a real drive to get better so that you can play something cooler the next time a jam session goes on, so anyone who's just been sitting in their house playing on their own or with backing cd's check out all of your friends and see if they want to organise a jam - it's fun + gives you something to do + could end up giving you something that sounds entirely great!
  2. Dude, what you want is a phase shift. They kick ass (they make your playing sound as though an aeroplane is taking off or landing, I think it sounds positively insane)
  3. I restrung my pacifica, I play it before I play my paul so that I can feel the difference in quality. And a difference there is.
  4. Oh, while I'm here - don't go to Leonards in inverurie, you might get mike fisk as a teacher, that guy sucks.
  5. Man, I hate GnR Especially that cunt axl rose. If I had a penny for every time I've said "I hate axl rose" I'd have a shitload of pennys.
  6. Yo dan, where can I pick up a copy of this book? And are there any others like it you can suggest? I want to learn more bluesy scales and techniques, anything you can point out?
  7. Nah, Tom's personality is shite, they're all a bunch of ugly cunts. I'm way hotter than all of them
  8. Hyar, I might go if i can get a lift. And ellon academy sucks Tom is a testament to the shoddy teaching and most unsatisfactory equipment of that *school* Note, I use the term school loosely. Very loosely...
  9. That was a waste of my time... seriously.

    Help!

Uhhhh, I'm not too sure - taking it to a guitar tech would probably be best. I'm going to take a really wild guess at what the problem might be - part of the live wire has somehow come loose and is touching another part of the guitar causing you to get shocked.
  11. I like my epi les paul just fine, but next on my list of guitars to purchase is a fender tele, just one of the highway two models. That won't be for a couple of years yet.
  12. Haha, you sound quite funny "It kept on rocking without me" I was amused
  13. Guitars Epiphone Les Paul Standard (translucent amber, birdseye) Peavey Route 61 acoustic Yamaha Pacifica Amps Peavey Renown 400 Stagg 10 watt Marshall stack (2 watts ) Soon to be either a marshall Mg30 or fender champion Pedals Marshall JH-1 Boss CS-3 Boss PW-10
  14. Yeah, zoom pedals have a tendency to suck mighty balls Get a boss instead
  15. Haha, bryn, of course I know nothing of music... In fact, my knowledge of music is so poor that I can't even name 50 g and r songs, and then rant about the awesome solo that slosh pulls off... *yawn* Man, if only I knew as much about guns and roses as you did, then one day I might be top of the aberdeen music message boards, but I'm afraid I don't and therefore I must reside at the bottom of the heap But hear this, you are now my arch nemesis - I will stop at nothing to scramble past you in the war of knowledge! Wait, actually I think I'll just leave it at you being my arch nemesis
  16. Or put it on "arab" setting, phone up the prime minister and then the following conversation will happen: Hog Dev: "There's a bomb under your seat" Big T (Tony Blair) "Excuse me?" Hog Dev: "I said sauce... smothered in meat..." *Hog Dev hangs up telephone*
  17. *claps hands* My god, you should lead the country or something!!
  18. Get an electric drill, plug in your guitar and turn on the drill beside the pickup and you get the drill noise outta your amp.
  19. Gary Moore - Highly excellent ballad blues, power rock, extreme solo rock etc legend. Ry Cooder - Slide blues? He's the man, fucking brilliant stuff, also he can play some of that neoclassical spanishy stuff, ever watched crossroads? If you haven't I highly reccomend it just for the head cuttin' duel at the end. Chuck Berry - I love his stuff because it's so typically bluesy, he influenced a lot of the music that came out in the 50's and 60's. Gotta respect him, and also he came up with 'cruisin'
  20. I use Jim Dunlop Heavy plectrums and Venom Heavy's. I hate thin plectrums, I despise the stupid flippy grate noise they make. *gets angry*
  21. Haha, if you want to finish with someone who's been a bastard to you then just go for the e-mail/text approach. I guarantee you'll feel good for the next week if you do that. And don't even make it nice "yo, shithead. you're dumped - I'm afraid you're just too ugly/not cool enough to be seen with me. I'm sorry... Sorry you're such a jerk!" Send them that
  22. Hey bitch, I stepped up to a pacifica from a REALLY crummy guitar. They're pretty good
