  1. Yeah, I'm keeping busy - I'll be back in a new guise soon nothing official yet though so I'll keep my trap shut. As for the other guys, Sandy is playing with Downfall now and Fish is on an open-G tuning odyssey which is sounding pretty sweet.
  2. Cheers for that! Just the usual I'm afraid... musical differences blah blah If you want it's explained a little more here - Hot Mangu RIP Blog
  3. It's definitely worth saving and spending a bit more; you'll regret buying something cheaper. The right cab will make that head sound incredible, anything cheaper/crummier would sort of defeat the purpose of having such a good head. A really good (maybe mesa 4x12) cab is something I'd love to get hold of but it's not realistically in my budget. If you can save up and afford it you should definitely make the investment in something nice.
  4. Please tell me it's not to run your new 6505 through?
  5. haha, he was in my year at Mearns Academy. Have to agree with Christie though, when I knew him he was sound enough, this pyramid scheme stuff seems well dodgy though.
  6. yeah... from a shop o_O
  7. Just to clarify, Bigsby. Paul obviously didn't import it at the prices you are talking about. There is no mark up here, he just doesn't want to lose too much money on it.
  8. Paul has asked me to post up a slightly ammended version of the ad. For some reason I can't edit my original post any more so here it is: 52 Telecaster, "Thin Skin" nitro lacquer, limited edition. In butterscotch blond, medium jumbo frets. Feels and sounds magnificent and in pretty much brand new condition, except for very light play wear on the pick guard. Absolutely amazing guitar. Made as part of a commission for Dave's Guitars, Wildwood Guitars and Music Machine Guitars in the USA. They do not have any of these left as they sold out very quickly indeed. These guitars were never officially made available on the UK/European market with only very few were imported by private dealers. The Thin Skins they have left are going for between 1299 & 1499. If you search ebay for "Fender Thin Skin" you might find one. This guitar has never gigged or even been out of the house. Comes with immaculate original tweed case, certificate of authenticity dated May 06, vintage strap, bridge cover and all hang tags. price 1100 or best offer plus 20 p&p. Guitar will be very well packed in box with much padding and protection.
  9. I'm putting this guitar up on here on behalf of a friend of mine who is coming up from Newcastle at the end of the month for some gigs. Thought someone in Aberdeen might be interested as this is an AWESOME guitar. 52 Tele, "thin skin" nitro lacquer, limited edition. In butterscotch blonde. Almost brand new, except for very light play wear on the pick guard. Absolutely amazing guitar. Contact Paul at paul@paulrose.co.uk Alternatively you could PM me for Paul's mobile number. Here's a video of Paul himself playing this guitar, sounds amazing! Cheers!

    Clapton

Those "shreds" videos are pretty funny, the real ones anyway. The original, and still the best, is the Yngwie one but it's been taken down and really hard to find now. The Iron Maiden one is hilarious just for Bruce Dickinson's comedy yelps as he jumps over the monitors and the "It's aliiiiiiive" as Eddie is prancing about the stage Oh and the Paco De Lucia one if you can hunt it down is pretty funny too
  12. wtf!?!?!? that soundboard recording is absolutely sweet, was it a radio broadcast or something? Maybe just an "official" bootleg? Couldn't be there and was gutted to hear I missed Fight Fire with Fire and Trapped Under Ice but now I can enjoy them in glorious (well mixed) stereo... hoorah Cheers for the link!!!!!
  13. Cheers Al but it's all good, I'm getting one on Tuesday. Triggs, just clicked who it is, cheers Tim. Sorry for not recognising you from your pm but I was using my mobile to check my messages and didn't realise it was you without the info/avatar etc. I'll see you at college. Problem solved, that was easy - cheers guys!!
  14. My power bank on my pedal board has just given up the ghost after many years of fine service. Anyone on here looking to get rid of one? Must be working (obviously) and have at least 5 outputs. I don't even need the connector cables as mine are all good. Thanks!
  15. The trailer looks sweet too... with the Ecstacy of Gold playing over the intro it gave me a slight semi
  16. Selmer Treble/Bass MKII Ebay This beauty is available, thought someone on here might fancy it. Guitarist from my band has decided it's time to part company with it and it's going for a song. Hope somebody local fancies it as he'd rather not post it off to some far flung buyer. Cheers!!
  17. Ah no way, that was a good gig Cheers dude, we'll see you on Sunday, come up and say hi when we're done and we'll have a pint.
  18. Awesome, cheers man, really glad to hear that!!! From onstage it sounded pretty grim, just really hard to balance all that noise through the monitors I guess. Joe did record it live via his minidisk and it actually sounds pretty sweet, if we can master it up and make it a bit meatier then I don't see why it might not see the light of day. Although, with a bit of luck, the Drummonds gig this Sunday might be recorded too and all being well it should be a huge set. Also, we'll be taking our ENTIRE rig down, including Len's full drumkitand acoustics for the quiet bits, so it should (fingers crossed) sound epic haha, let's not get ahead of ourselves, we're not gone yet I can't see it happening anytime soon though tbh. I can't begin to think how hard it'll be to get all those songs back to strength after a long layoff, we barely manage week to week It would be a shame to come back at some point and piss on the remains of all those beastin' tunes.
  19. Yeah, I would have thought so. We still have a few tickets ourselves and I'm sure One-Up should still have some, if not then behind the bar of Drummonds maybe? If you're struggling then feel free to drop me a pm and we can get tickets to you Cheers!! Mac
  20. Am I the only one who found this slightly intriguing? What did he say/do? I'm guessing as it was due to "legal reasons" you probably can't talk about it publicly but I had to ask
  21. Found dead in a US hotel room apparently, BBC hasn't updated yet so that's all I know. Sucks Edit: Just found this on Reuters: PORTLAND, Oregon (Reuters) - Mitch Mitchell, a pioneering drummer best known for his work with 1960s rock icon Jimi Hendrix, died on Wednesday, at age 62. Mitchell was found dead in his Portland, Oregon, hotel room. A Multnomah County coroner's spokesman said it appeared he died of natural causes, although a formal finding had not yet been issued. The drummer had been in Portland for the last stop on an 18-city U.S. tour with Experience Hendrix, a concert series celebrating the legacy of the late rock star. "We're all devastated to hear of Mitch's passing. He was a wonderful man, a brilliant musician and a true friend," Hendrix's sister, Janie Hendrix, said in a statement on behalf of the estate. "His role in shaping the sound of the Jimi Hendrix Experience cannot be underestimated," she said. "Over the course of the recent tour, he seemed delighted with the interchange with the other musicians and the audiences. There is no question that he was doing what he loved."
  22. I bet you're right... By the way... Robbs is looking pretty hot in that photo too
  23. Cheers guys, we truly appreciate all the words of support. We're just going to try and make sure that these last 2 gigs are as fun as they can be and so we're working really hard (about time eh?) to compile a set that spans as much of our 10 years as possible. Both these gigs should be pretty unique so please try and make it down to both and we'll do our best to throw in some surprises for everyone. We can't wait!! It'll be great to be able to thank everyone for all the brilliant gigs etc we've had over the years, and so please come and say hi (well I suppose bye ) See you then!!
  24. Indeed it is probably the best game ever Sorry Vega, would you believe I had it sold within 5 minutes over the phone to one of my mates who saw the ad on here. Cheers though! SOLD!
