Moshulu is on Windmill Brae just off the top of Crown Street. It plays different music on different days ie Fridays are mainstream rock, Saturdays are 70s/80s rock anthem type things and Mondays are indie and local stuff (i think). It's about 3.50 to get in, but you can get a discount if you are a student with ID or you get a membership card from the cloakroom.Opens at 10.30pm until 3am. Drinks are cheap, 1.75 for a vodka and mixer or a pint I think, plus regular promos. Henry J Beans is attached and is more of a bar, it has a couple of pool tables and live music on weekends. Other good pubs are...Ma Camerons (an old mans pub really, but good and relaxed with great lunches). Slain's Castle is good for cocktails and Hog's Head is ok too. They're all on, or just off Belmont Street. enjoy

i agree, but I also think that people should be aware that just because you're 18, it doesn't guareentee(sp?) you getting in. My boyfriend is 19 and goes to aberdeen uni. his student card doesn't have his age on it because he was 18 when he started there. Out of a matter of interest, what does Moshulu accept as ID? Is it passport and drivers licenses? It really sucks that you jave to pay over 30 for them, isn't there anything else they accept?

'I'm afraid you're being rather nave; I've found people in Moshulu no more welcoming than those anywhere else. They judge me immediately on my clothes, and as I don't fall into any specific "alt" category I'm deemed not worth speaking to, as do people in "mainstream" bars and clubs'- Sky I've never had a problem, maybe it's just you but really i suppse it does depend on the night and the crown you're with

then don't go...simple. I don't know what you mean about the drinks, surely if you drink JD and coke or whatever in a pub, it'll taste the same? Maybe the reason you think it's been crap in the last few months is that most of the students have gone away for the holidays, wait a few weeks and the place will be full and back in the swing of things

I'd have to agree. Call me naive, but I always thought that one of the best things of being part of the alt crowd is that people are far more accepting of people, you've got your punks, goths, emo, and people like me, who are pretty middle of the road and the great thing is (or was) that you could strike up a conversation with anyone in moshulu and meet all kinda of people. By all means have a dress code (keep it simple, just say 'dark colours and no sportswear' or something) and that's enough. You guys (in general, not just Flik and Moshulu Rob) seem to be a little too protective of Moshulu. It's just a club gyus, if you don't want to talk to some people in there, then don't, but I can't believe that ypu'd be so narrow minded and shallow as to judge people on their clothes.

Goddamit, i thought that was a day time thing for some reason. OK, where can I take my cousin when shes up for the Aberdeen Uni open day next tuesday?

There is a part of me that wants to complain the people shouldn't be judged by their clothes.....but i generally ignore anything the morality concious part of me says.

I know you have the posters up saying what there is, but I have a lousy memory...all I can remember is schnapps being cheap. Are you still doing the 2 4 1 on cocktails? what else is on?
