  1. Vocal mic would be interesting, but would not rule anything out.
  2. Since you are desperate for some replies, I'll punt this one. I'm up in Forres, playing Yamaha basses for years, but bought a couple of other basses before XMas, one of which is an Ibanez Blazer , MIJ, natural finish, one piece maple neck, in very good condition beyond the odd ding on the back, and a little bit of discolouration in the brass bridge and brass knobs. It's dated 1981, comes with original case ( a bit battered), and plays very nicely. Lightweight body, lots of bite and growl, neck is quite deep but very well balanced. On the web many people rave about these, mainly the people who have them! The other bass I bought was actually a no name Jap Jazz bass copy, probably same vintage, nice maple neck with black blocks. Body is ply, and I put a Seymour Duncan Basslines pickup in bridge position, but it's turned out nice as well, after I shimmed the neck a bit. I mention it in passing, since you already have a jazz bass. I bought the two from a lady in Lossie, who could no longer play herself. She had her own bass, and some she had inherited from her dad, including a Shergold Marathon and a Guild. I hope Anyway, a reply, and food for thought! Regards Nigel
  3. I have a mint condition Flambeau LFW 1, an early eighties MIJ acoustic guitar. Supposedly designed by George Lowden, it's a slope shouldered dread, spruce top, and mahogany laminate back and sides. A very nicely made guitar, string through bridge, great tuners, and a nice minimal look to it. Nut is slightly wider than normal, and the neck has a fairly shallow feel, with hardly any fret wear, and currently set up with a low action. The guitar has a very even sound, unlike most dreadnaughts, great for picking, not boomy or shrill, all strings sound equally- it records well. Has a hard case, and an Artec piezo pickup installed, which sounds typical on its own, not so bad if put through something like a Fishman Aura pedal. I have other acoustics, none actually as good as the Flambeau, but since I am really a bass player that doesn't matter. What I don't have is a hollow body electric, and since I seem to be getting into jazzy, blues stuff, I wonder if anyone out there has such a thing, surplus to their own requirements, and might be interested in a swap? There is a lot of stuff about Flambeaus online, frankly mainly people looking to talk up their value based on the Lowden connection. Lots of pix as well, so I'm not posting any, but if you are interested, mail me, and I'll be glad to send you pictures of the actual instrument.
  4. Lovely seventies copy of Martin 000, solid spruce top, laminated maple back and sides. Unusual contrasting dark neck-mahogany? Plays very well, low action, good intonation. Some dings, and 'interesting' slightly offset machine heads. Not a lot of bottom end, but records finger picking etc very well. Have fun learning about Penco on the internet... see pix on Aberdeen gumtree. £175, with gig bag.
  5. AKG C1000s, with clip. Silver, hardly used, £50 inc postage to you (within reason!). Two AKG C411 contact mics, with battery pack- the minijack ones, not XLRs. Well used pair, but both in working order. Cover of battery pack is slightly damaged, but held in place by belt clip. £50 the lot, inc postage as above. EMO E720 phantom power supply- PP3 powers one mic from this unit. £10 plus postage Artec MSP50-OSJ soundhole pickup for acoustic- black, thin one, six pole pieces. £15 inc postage
  6. First post: Two Rode NT1 mikes- with hard case and mic mount. Both hardly used. 75 each. AKG C3000, again with hard case and clip. Also 75- I have an AKG battery pack for this which I will throw in. No-name Precision bass copy- eighties vintage- nice maple neck, recently refretted, black with white scratch plate, chunky bridge. VGC for age, Had electrics screened recently. Old school vibe. Also 75 And if anyone is interested in a swap, I have a Roland W30 sampling keyboard, and floppy disc sample library. Again, in vgc for age- replaced the back light in the display, and it works good apart from bottom C key. I would swap it for money of course, but I'll consider anything musical, within reason. I'm in Forres, work in Rothes. All offers considered, I'm looking in particular for parametric eq/graphic to use with double bass. Other bass, acoustic guitar things are maybe of interest.
