ahh, i must have missed the url changing. i shall update my mobile bookmarks.

you should get with the modern times and get the main site working on mobile devices. more and more of them are capable of accessing full sites without problems and with data browsing packages being more reasonably priced it's more common for people to aim their mobile browsers at the full sites.

Well if my Orange data plan is anything to go by then it isn't getting that much more reasonable!

I take your point, but the fact of the matter is that you can't properly view or use any regular web site on a tiny screen, regardless of mobile phone or web browser being used (and Opera Mini is just the best of a bad bunch IMHO - I use it as well on my Nokia N82).

This web site is actually quite usable on an iPhone or iPod Touch and perfectly usable on laptops even with the smallest screens. I'm not going to waste my time removing functionality and design features just so it displays fine to the small percentage of people (< 0.1% according to our web site statistics) who access the web site using a mobile phone. Sorry.

The mobile version we already have is very basic, but it allows our regular members get to the good stuff quickly (the forums and their private messages).

ha, tried to get onto the wap site again today with the new address and orange have blocked it with their safeguard thing because they class it as only suitable for over 18's. i requested a review and they have confirmed this.

i shall have to get them to turn safeguard off but that's still a bit ridiculous right?
