Default strange link problem

I was trying to steal a smilie from another site and put it between [img] tags here but it wouldn't work;

the image I wanted was: http://www.alternativenation.net/forums/ images /smilies/demons/drunk.gif

but after submitting the post the address was: http://www.alternativenation.net/forums/http://www.aberdeen-music.com/forums/ images /smilies/demons/drunk.gif

(it's added the url for the forums directory here)

never heard of this being a problem with vBulletin before so maybe it's a replacement variable mistake? Although I can't figure out how that would be & I haven't got a running version of vBulletin left to test with other than v3 beta's (which rawks btw, you'll love it if you upgrade )

it's not serious at all & will extremely rarely cause problems, it's just bugged me & if you fix it you can tell me what was happening

*edit* I had to add spaces to the link addresses because it was adding in the aberdeen-music.com forum url again!!
- it has given me a clue to what the problem might be - in vBulletin options, there may be somewhere asking for a relative path to the images directory and it's set to the full url?
not certain why it would replace it in these links though :S

Okay, this is just such a weird problem. I'm tempting to say this is a bug rather than something up with the templates but I'll have to investigate this further.

vB3 does look great but I won't be going near it until the final release version is out.
