Yes there are other annoying people in tennis, but the thread is about Andy Murray so I was addressing him, not everyone else.

And obviously his attitude has lost him many fans. I am one of them. Hence this argument.

OK I realise that I am being a bit of a knob, but you must realise that you are kissing his ass. Or at the very least giving it a little peck on the cheek.

US Open starts tomorrow.
Possible opponents for Murray include Karlovich in the 3rd round and Cilic in the 4th. Then Del Potro in the quarters. I fancy him to get to the semis.

I reckon he'll make it the final again but beating both nadal and federer might be asking too much of him. Fed's going to win it.

Apparently not - Cilic thrashed him tonight. All down to Scotland to make this week worthwhile

He's getting sponsored by Viagra because the furthest he can can go on his own is a semi.

He came across as a total twat in the post match interview last night / this morning. A dour bugger.

I'd be a dour bugger if I'd fucked it up like he did last night. Not a good performance by any means even taking into account Cilic playing better than I've seen him play before. He never seemed to get his head back above water after failing to capitalise on the 2 set points he had at 4-5 in the first set. 9 games later it was 7-5, 4-0 to Cilic and essentially game over. Gutted.

Fully. Cilic is actually a really good player. Very solid. And very humble - he was curtailing his excitement post match and came across as very likeable. Best of luck to the lad, I say.

It's just getting a wee bit over familiar now. Murray talks a good game - says he's been flying in training and ultimately fails. I just can't stand his dourness. It's not very endearing. he could smile once in a while and it would do him no harm.

I'm 100% behind him and admire his talent, but I've just got a feeling he's going to be another Henman and never actually win anything if he doesn't realise his full potential and mantain it for an entire tournament.

The Brittish media is rubbish. Del Potro for the win.

Andy Murray is already the best male British tennis player in any of our lifetimes, so please give the guy a fucking break.

At only 22 years old, his career record in big tournaments is already miles better than Henman with 4 Master Series titles and one grand slam final to his name compared to only 1 and zip with Henman.

All I ever hear is "he's such a dour/arrogant cunt".....fuck off. He's a tennis player, not a celebrity....and he's a Scottish tennis player at that, so a bit of support wouldn't go amiss. I have always found him magnanimous and respectful in defeat and humble when he wins, so how that makes him arrogant is anyone's guess. So what if he doesn't smile much, his style of tennis is great to watch and that's we should be interested in.

It's just the most typically British attitude to try and make someone who is a massive success into a failure off the back of a couple of bad performances. He's repeatedly beaten the recognised best player ever to play the game in Federer, something Henman comprehensively failed to do throughout his career against Sampras....yet people constantly choose to conveniently forget his past successes and focus 100% on a couple of bad performances. It's a fucking joke.

Rant over.
