It was looking alright for Hatton in the early rounds. Some of the unofficial scorers had him up on Mayweather at one stage, but after the cut and the dubious point deduction he was rattled and signalling his punches. The ref was a bit protective of Mayweather, to say the least.

My personal highlight was Tom Jones singing the national anthem...

Ach well, no shame in losing to Mayweather. Floyd is one of the finest ring craftsmen of his generation.

Sets up the Mayweather/Miguel Cotto fight nicely.

mayweather had good tactics and worked hatton into fatigue for the first 8 rounds, he hardly boxed him at all, then it was all over
