Aye, apparently he likes a drink or two, but who doesn't?

I have no inside knowledge regarding that matter, sadly. He looks like he has "a problem", however!

I'd suggest it's possibly inaccurate, or exaggerated.

Besides: drinking is fantastic.

Given the dearth of high quality candidates I'd go for Burley (didn't know about his "problem", but that needn't be too much of a barrier to success....Fergie didn't get his red nose from standing out in the cold did he?), possibly McGhee or Levein, or maybe even Billy Davies, anything other than McAllister - can't believe he's one of the favourites - surely some club would have come in for him by now if he was any cop?

I think the SFA are doing the right thing holding off on an appointment till next year...the available and preferred candidates might have changed significantly by then.

Joe Jordan gets my vote. I don't know why. I like has lack of teeth. He'd scare the fuck out of the opposition.

From the BBC Football gossip column:

Quote:
Aberdeen manager Jimmy Calderwood has put himself in the frame to be the new Scotland boss. Also on the list for the job are Billy Davies, Jim Jeffries, Souness, Craig Levein and Mark McGhee.
More worrying for me however:

Quote:
Graeme Souness has made it clear he would welcome the Scotland or Republic of Ireland jobs but insists he has not been offered either.
Souness can fuck right off!

Need I mention Bertie Vogts?

Could McAllister (with 57 Int'l caps) be any worse?

Remember he was the 2nd strongest contender when interviews last took place.

Hope you haven't wasted your money yet coz he's ruled himself out - wants a club position which makes sense to me.
