These days we have Chris Clark and Derek Young playing week in, week out in our midfield. Two workman-like players, but with extremely limited ability.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not against Calderwood at all. He's done an excellent job with limited resources. I was just saying that sometimes I pine for some excitement back down Pittodrie way.
I cant remember how long uncle ebbe was here... I was as drunk as him for most of his reign! I remember the 10 home wins on the trot, that was great.

Lets hope calderwood signs a few flair players next month. Still, could be worse.... we are in a cup semi, top half of the league and a great chance to still be in Europe after christmas. Last time we managed that was about 1985/6...... onwards!

That's a point, it all started to go wrong when they started showing that advert with the gorilla playing drums...

it might get called off as they've had some bad weather down there but if it does go ahead then its going to wet, windy and very muddy!!! should be some comedic errors in defence!!!

and the exciting draw for the fourth round of the setanta shield at half time!!!

Having just got setanta sports, I have to say I quite like it. Loads of footy.

And the golf channel had the 97 Ryder Cup on last night, great stuff.

I like the fact they do the dressing room interviews and footage in the Blue Square games.

I actually think Derek Young has been alright so far. Also, was in under Ebbe when we lost 3 games to celtic 7-0, 6-0 and 5-0? In the same season.

Young got off to a very poor start this season, but has been okay since then. Just okay. I don't think anyone will suggest otherwise either. He'll run all game, chip in with the odd goal, and just become a very average member of our squad. He will never provide any flair or craft.

That first season of Ebbe's bordered on hilarious at times. I shed tears twice that season. I remember his first game in charge at home to Celtic, 5-0 defeat. Celtic fans resorted to singing "Aberdeen, Aberdeen, Aberdeen". That was infuriating.

But hey, two cup finals. That's three trips to Hampden. The semi-final against Hibs that season is possibly my favourite ever AFC memory. Dow's wonder-strike infront of only 5,000 or so Dons fans. We still outsang the Hibs masses.

It was a shame about the final.
