Our third Employees Only trade night takes place on Wednesday 11th February at Snafu. The kind sponsors this time are Mehkong "Spirit of Thailand" and Chang beer. The aim of Employees Only is to get all like-minded bar souls together for an evening of education (where learning is fun...'cause we get to drink), competing (because winning is everything!) and lastly, but really the most important part, partying.

Very soon, posters and flyers will be turning up in the Aberdeen bars and restaurants you guys all work in. We're looking for 8 bartenders for the competiton. Some will be invited, some will submit a highly original recipe to gomes@clubsnafu.com for consideration. Each entrant will receive a bottle of Mehkong to perfect their drink with. The slight flaw in this plan is that you must first submit your recipe to become a confirmed entrant, so really, unless you have access to Mehkong, you're really concocting your recipe blind. What we'll do instead is put a bottle behind the bar in our new bar Five for would-be competitors to pop along with all the other ingredients and try out their cocktails. We'll need to limit it to 50ml's per person, first-come first-served. Hopefully, that helps out a bit.

The format of the evening is roughly as follows...

6pm – 7.30pm
Mekhong “Spirit of Thailand” training & presentation
(invite only – trade outlets to RSVP)

7.30pm – 8pm
Chang beer & Thai canapés tasting
(invite only – trade outlets to RSVP)

9.30pm – 11pm
Mehkong North of Scotland Cocktail Competition
(8 bartenders, mixology-based – open to public/limited spaces)

11pm – 2am
Employees Only afterparty @ Snafu
