Edit-Select label master - Percy X brings us another stellar line-up of guests from the left-wing of music - expect serious stripped back electronica mixed with the minimal sounds of Detroit from this months special guests Damián Schwartz, Gary Beck and Percy X. Damián Schwartz is an electronic music artist based in Madrid. His weakness for music began at an early age although it wasn't until he turned 15 that he come in to contact with techno and electronic music. At the same time he came across CMYKmusik and from this encounter arose Musica Charlista, a 50/50 project between Damián and Alex Under. As a producer Schwartz inclines towards avant-garde, developing multiple musical concepts turning his music into something original and unique. Surprise, jazz, harmony and melody are the common factors in Damián's solo productions, although never loosing sight of the dancefloor. His work has been compared to Ricardo Villalobos, featuring raw sequences, samples, strong patterns, frantic rythms, innovation and inspiration. He is also the man behind Mupa, a label created in order to support Schwartz's most personal feelings and concepts. Joining Damián is Glasgow born Gary Beck who has been producing electronic music since early 2002. Using mostly keyboards, Drum Machines, Hardware Synths and software programs, his style is very much his own, fusing bass driven techno with the more experimental quirky house side of things. Percy X is on hand to ensure this party goes off in true undergrounds style. Having been producing electronic music since the early nineties, initially with friend Richard Miller under the moniker Havana for fellow Glasgow label Limbo. He has been part of the Soma family since 1994, has collaborated with Andrew Weatherall, remixed the likes of Adam Beyer and Slam, produced his own cult tracks, has run the highly succesful clubnight GAIN, and plays regularly at some of the worlds best clubs. Percy now runs his own record label and clubnight series <edit-select>.
