Default European Parliamentary Elections

It's election day, isn't it?

I'm gonna vote 'cos I haven't been eligible since '97 due to being overseas but I feel a bit like a sheep turning up for shearing. I also have absolutely no idea who my MEP(s) might be or what exactly they might do besides getting piggy with the trough.

Anyone else going to bother? Thoughts or advice on candidates, partisan or otherwise?

If you're apathetic about the main parties, and aren't too keen on the BNP getting any power, then voting for one of the other minority parties (Greens, for example) is a good way to go. Tactics FTW

Yeah, I'm considering it. Other minority parties that is, I will never vote for national socialists. The UKIP seem to have stolen a march on them anyway but I'm not sure I can take them seriously after they stuck a flier through my door with Winston Churchill doing the V sign on it...

I voted about an hour ago. First time I've ever voted Conservative, after supporting (new) Labour in previous elections. It felt good, I just can't wait to have the opportunity to do the same again in a General Election. The other possibilities on the ballot paper just don't bear thinking about. I'll be very surprised if the BNP doesn't pick up at least one seat. With any luck that'll be their electoral high water mark for this generation.

The BNP candidates for the Scotland region in EU elections - half are from Glasgow, the other half in Aberdeenshire...weird.

I'm not bothering with this once since I'm still registered in Fraserburgh, dsepite not living there since 1998. 40 miles is a long way to go to vote.

I voted tactically in the last Scottish elections, I voted Labour just because I wanted SNP to lose and Labour were their nearest rivals. Didn't work like.

2 ballot papers? I only got one I think...or at least I only voted for one party.
