Biden was a good choice for Obama.

Despite the recent polls showing his lead slipping I still fully expect Obama to win the election. It would still require a monumental fuck up from Obama for him to lose it.

Gallup has Obama at 48%, McSame at 45%. What's interesting about the CNN poll is that they've not released any detail or cross-tabular information (something that other national polls, like Gallup, do). But yeah, national polls are pretty pointless anyway. It's the battleground states that are key (and they will be tight). It'll all come down to ground game.

Hopefully the convention will win back the flakey Clinton supporters and hammer in a concrete unity.

I reckon McCain will probably pick one of the two who stood against him, either Huckabee or Romney.

Romney left the race early, thus making it even more of a foregone conclusion, so that might stand in his favour.

I think the problem here is that Obama is clearly more appealing to the rest of the world, who are dying to see the US finally get over the whole "black president" issue, but I just have a sneaking suspicion that the voters stateside might not be ready to make that leap.

Default Mccain picks his running mate

BBC NEWS | World | Americas | McCain picks woman running mate

and a very cunning choice it is too. i think it might backfire though with her being a staunch pro-lifer, i can't see that tempting too many of clinton's supporters to the other side. still, very well played by mccain.

I can't see him listening to a woman if he gets in office.
It's all just a big stunt to tempt the woman supporters.

Watching the DNC last night, McCain has a lot to do to better Obama in my opinion.
